Will GME CFDs get tradable today or will they be suspended the entire day?
Can a mod please explain why Iām locked out of my account again? It seems other can login. Could they also please give us reasons why this wonāt happen again on Thur/Fri which are also critical trading days. Iām very worried about my capital.
Also not working for me, assuming the team are aware
Servers seem to be down with Iād assume is overloading happening with the masses jumping on certain shares etc
I just checked putting GME buy orders, I was able to place both buy and sell orders⦠@David do you have a notice from IBKR for the suspension of the aforementioned security?
Just checked, can place GME orders on Revolut as well.
if other platform has the same issues, does not mean it is something to be accepted and generalised. It means they should all upgrade their bloody servers.
The notice on T212 regarding issues was lifted 30 minutes+ agoā¦
t212 not working on web and apps. shame
Can buy shares now!!!
Just seen the N.B. on the original post up top. I wholeheartedly disagree, just seems like a way for top line management to dodge responsibility. If traders arenāt going to have access to popular stocks on the largest platform in the UK then why even operate in the first place. The term volatile is also highly misleading.
UK have nothing to offer if only I was in USA
Oh for goodness sake - just as t212 must take some responsibility, so must the individual investors. T212 are giving you a fair warning, nothing more. If you choose to ignore it that is your choice but donāt come complaining about it.
With all due respect the majority of individual traders have taken responsibility for the the element that they should. For you to assume everyone who has raised a concern is not taking responsibility when using their capital is not something I can vouch for. Nor, your logic about complaining if something goes wrong. Itās not the issues that concern loyal T212 users, itās the way they are handled. Now, I understand that itās possible that external factors could throw anything out of limbo. You could board a plane and it could crash. If the pilot and airline team didnāt handle the situation well itās not out of bounds to raise concerns. As far as me and hundreds of other responsible traders are concerned, who have capital on the line with not just this stock, but other less volatile tickers also, it seems that T212ās responses and communication rollout have been inadequate. Iāve stated in a prior post that I am more let down by the way that the communication has been rolled out rather than the actual shutdowns. Itās very disheartening. There were minor issues on IG trading and they updated all investors immediately and promptly. We all had to wait hours before any real communication was present that anyone could even interpret to mean anything substantive. Stop undermining those with genuine concerns who seek more clear communication from a prominent trading house.
Itās sad because I had high hopes and great trust in Trading 212. Does anyone know how many staff works for Trading212?
Hi David
Thanks for providing an update. I think the main issue for a lot of users is the uncertainty regarding open positions, and people being unable to exit when they want.
Whilst you have asked users to consider the risk before placing an order, there are many who have held open positions for days/weeks/months, with our trading now blocked by:
- Not being able to log in
- If users can log in, buy/sell orders have been suspended
Iām sure you appreciate why you user base considers this downtime unacceptable right now. The current fear for many people is that we could be left in negative positions once Trading 212 is able to either fix login issues or recommence orders.
Finally, the lack of transparency concerning the issue whether it be via social media, email, text message or here in the forums is frustrating to say the least and, as I have no doubt you and your colleagues have witnessed, a great many people are concerned.
Whilst I appreciate the āblameā (probably not the correct word) might be with your intermediary, this is directly affecting your end users. Are you able to comment on whether this will be the only time during this saga if your users will be ālocked outā of their accounts or trading altogether once again? This is prompting many people to consider (I believe many already have) contacting the FCA or the Financial Ombudsman Service.
Regards
James
Does degiro allow fractional shares
Iām assuming nothing.
If theyād not given warnings today then you would be complaining (as you already are) that t212 donāt communicate - could it be better? Yes. Should the trading infrastructure be better whether that is down to t212 or IBKR? Yes. Does the balance of responsibility lie with t212? Again clearly yes.
But none of that absolves investors completely of the choices we make - we choose to use a free to trade platform and with that comes the responsibility to be aware of some of the potential pitfalls including flaky infrastructure (it isnāt as if this is the first time this has happened).
Perfect summary, thankyou.
I agree with you. I already hold the same view as you, I just framed it from the opposite side. Also - Iāve never experienced these issues before. Iāve only used T212 to invest in long-term stocks like Gold ETFs in the past and used other platforms like IG for more rapid trading. This was my first experience in the lions arena so to speak. However as you said you live and you learn. I will not be using T212 again moving forward.
Surely people realise what is going on here, is not investing.
Its like joining a money rollercoaster, not so different to bitcoin. Something is only worth what people are willing to pay. A lot of people are jumping on the bandwagon, but really you have to ask, what fundamentals are driving you to buy.
Is it a stock you would like to hold, is it a stock recommended by someone you follow, do you see potential returnsā¦
ā¦or are you joining in just to feel a part of it and make a point?
