Greatland Gold plc (GGP)

Major shareholders brought in at 2.7p and sold big chunks at 12p & 14p. No directors have brought in the past 12 months, they’ve all been selling. Any one think that’s strange if they have discovered gold?

Huh? There’s been huge buys this past week. Including one on Friday during the last auction.

I don’t think anything strange is happening whatsoever and I’m following it very closely :+1:t2:

(Sharecast News) - Greatland Gold revealed on Friday that chief executive Gervaise Heddle had disposed of 3.5m ordinary shares in the AIM-listed exploration and development firm.
Heddle, who exercised options over 5.0m ordinary shares at a price of 2.0p each earlier in the day, sold the shares on Thursday at an average price of 14.60p each, for a total value of £510,999.99.
Back in June, Greenland updated the market on Newcrest’s drilling campaign at its Havieron deposit, in the Paterson region of Western Australia, reporting ā€œexceptionalā€ drill results.
Greatland said the results further demonstrated improved continuity in the high-grade crescent sulphide zone, and extended the strike length of mineralisation to 550 metres in the upper 200 metres of that zone.

I’m not sure why that leaves you thinking something strange is happening?

GDXJ took 7 x the SPROTT number off the market on Friday (133m vs 20m) Astonishing amount!

There’s still a HUGE amount at play right now.

Nothing strange is happening - or at least I don’t think so.

No, not really. It’s prudent to take money off the table over time as he’s got living expenses too and may want to diversify his finances like any of us would. Nobody can time the top and he still has significant exposure (via shares and many options) after each sell that his interests are still overwhelmingly aligned with shareholders.

Having listened to this man talk for past few months I’ve little doubt about his character and integrity to continue to create value for shareholders and uphold his fiduciary duties.

@Alpha Well said and great read too!! :raised_hands:t2:

On a side note - the auction hours. What time are they? I really must be looking in all the wrong places finding out this info :woman_shrugging:t2:

Another question (if you don’t mind?) with the stock being low liquidity…if I decide to slice a healthy top off my shares and sell to scoop some profit, how does it work through using T212…if I was to place a sell order and it took 63 minutes again like the buy order and in that time the price dropped - do they send a notification saying along the lines of ā€œare you sure you still want to sell?ā€ Or does it place it regardless? Makes me quite anxious after that wait time.

Just an FYI (taken from group chat) worth reading :+1:t2:

I’m hoping to see good support at 25p and very strong support at 21p (don’t think we’ll get there) A lot sold out sub 25p because they were scared Gdxj wouldn’t happen (as anticipated) so sellers at sub 25p now gone. After Sprott bought all those ā€˜loose shares’ were permanently off the market so the sp was rock solid at 11.5p and never really dipped below since… Gdxj took 7x the Sprott number (133m vs 20m) shares off the market yesterday. That’s a big deal…they wiped out all sub 25 sellers… the Paddy’s, Jerry, Coaches, 5eights and those other really big holders could dent it selling millions but they are looking for a lot more…, Yes they might trim a bit Ā£50k - Ā£100k worth for that new kitchen or whatever a few may trade up to Ā£1m too - but the traders always seem to sell in the am and buy back that afternoon… they’re not going to ā€˜sell out’ 27p They are waiting for ā€˜Reddirts Payday’… for a big buyer to emerge…in NewcrestMining probably… Specifically an offer for GGP, or for Havieron and/or for Scally. Even then, they might hold… Because they trust GH and CB - GGP has a lot of other really fantastic assets… like The award winning DeGrey discovery Hemi - our Panorama project is bang into the same system and quality ā€˜nearology’ play. We’d be so cashed up to develop Ernst Giles or the black hills and Rudall etc back to do what we do best but will $250m in the back (after a huge special divi). That’s an Astonishing prospect.

No, the app warns you as you go in that you’re placing a trade on the AIM and that this is one of the risks of doing so. If it takes an hour and you lose out as a result, thems the breaks.

Probably best just to keep an eye on it til the trade goes through and cancel the sell if it drops too low for your liking.

On the auctions, I’m afraid I have no idea, (EDIT) but I just googled it and found the following;

@Joey_Fantana Aye aye aye I thought that maybe the answer. Not want I wanted to hear but it’s what I’ve to deal with. Thank you.

I HATE that an actual day job gets in the way of my trades now :unamused: (who have I become)

Not sure what I’m anticipating tomorrow that’s all. I need to pull myself together and stay strong!! Or not look. I’m in for the long haul so can’t get worried yet.

Ah that’s brill thank you for that!!!

@CeeGee I’d just echo what @Joey_Fantana said as my main holding is on Freetrade given they had GGP on their platform earlier so I’ve never actually made a GGP sale on the position I have on 212. Freetrade’s are instant though from my experience so this auction malarkey on here does confuse me also tbh

Maybe something I need to speak with one of the team about. I understand a slight delay but it’s not in anyone’s best interest with a 63 minute wait (well my best interest but also the platforms as people using AIM will begin go elsewhere) Thing is I could clearly see trades were taking place in that time that’s what’s left me bamboozled :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

How could there’s be placed but mine not but when my case was escalated on chat it went through there and then.

I feel like when the time does come to sell I could be left in a really uncertain position. I have a lot of money in GGP so time is of the essence in a sell.

Mmm I’m left wondering more could be done (I’m new to trading but have to push when something doesn’t sit right)

I’ll message them and see what they say, more instant trades.

Then again I may just have to follow what @Joey_Fantana has advised. I think the 63 minute wait has left me a little anxious is all.

Assuming that you work office hours, 9-5, then that’s one of the benefits of buying USA shares, as most of the trading time does not coincide with office hours in Europe.

On the other hand, I prefer Europe because I am more familiar with the companies and the markets they operate in.

I’m mainly focused on mining/exploration stock. Thats my passion and interest. That’s the UK hours though (leaves me ā€œvanishingā€ at work quite a lot. Needs must!)

My day job definitely gets in the way. Especially with auction times.

I’m not so focussed on US (well with various ETFā€˜s but they’re super passive)

GGP for me right now. Takes a lot of my time (at work)

One way to mentally get around this is to know when you intend to sell. Have a PT or PT range in mind and be disciplined about exiting at that point. The exit only becomes… testy… if it’s a panic sell so ask yourself in what circumstances might that occur.

You’re clearly scouring the news and if you know how to read a chart to a decent enough standard, why would you get to the point of panic sell?

I actually intended to sell at 17p then moved the bar to 20p and now I’m thinking around 35p. I mean this could get to Ā£1 at some point :woman_shrugging:t2:

Ideally 6 months hold time (really give and take, depends what the news is at the time) See what it’s like then. I shouldn’t check the charts daily (hourly/minutely!) but I do. Especially as it’s been such a ride this past few weeks.

I guess you’re right. It was my first very large buy on a AIM stock last week and didn’t predict the wait time so that’s left me a little unsure. Over thinking. Like you say if I follow the news like I do a panic sell shouldn’t be something I’ll have to deal with - good point.

I’m not great at charts I’m more fundamentals. I mean I try…I definitely look at them but slightly blankly.

Nice information. Thanks.

Some more food for though then: if you’re more about fundamentals, shouldn’t this be a long term hold? Like really long?

From what you described above it sounds like maybe you didn’t expect the price to get to where it is for a while, but it has so now maybe it becomes a matter of re-setting the PT or adapting the overall plan.

But fundamentals should be used for long term approaches. Years of holding. If your hold is more fleeting, the fundamentals barely matter and the charts should be leaned on more.

I’d recommend the 212 YouTube channel for chart reading tutorials. They’re really straightforward and easy to follow. Don’t overwhelm yourself though. Start with candlesticks perhaps and how to read them (if you don’t already know how) and then move onto a few indicators: EMAs, MACD, RSI, Stochastic Oscillator should be enough to really open it up for you. :+1:t2:

Question - how do you follow a chart on this stock now though? :hushed: it’s allllll over the shop.

I’ve been reading a chat forum all weekend and today once again it’s massively gone in a new direction - the 28p direction.
Lots of chart readers on their couldn’t call this. Infact they called the new resistance potentially @ 21p.

I say 6 months but it could be 8/10 and by that time I’m a 1 year holder so technically? :joy:

Thank you, if I have a base to start perhaps I won’t be so put off by them. It’s probably something I need to train myself to read as it’s important.

*30p this week :ok_hand:t2:

PS - the more I learn the more my holding plan changes but I like that as this past few months I’ve gone from never hearing of GGP to it ruling my portfolio. There’s still so much more to come. It’s genuinely exciting.

If you come out to the longer term views of the chart (1hr and upward) it’s a lot less choppy.

Only looks like a bag of spanners on shorter charts.

In fairness I’d agree with the 21p support call, and I might be able to make a case at 22.70p at a push. Let’s hope it forms a new higher base this week.

A few hours to go then. :joy:
