As l invest more into Trading 212 l am getting more concerned about the security of the platform and it being hacked. When compared with other companies it is so easy to use but lacking security features. Why do these other companies make it so difficult if this is not required.
What lack of security features are you referring to specifically?
There’s 2 step authentication, you can’t withdraw money to source that’s wasn’t used to fund the account and you limited proportionally by how much a given method was used.
What are you concerns?
ls 2 step authentication there by default or do you have to set it up? what does this mean-(you can’t withdraw money to source that’s wasn’t used to fund the account and you limited proportionally by how much a given method was used.) Sorry, l do not understand what this means.
At present l use The Share Centre for share dealing and to make a withdrawal l have to use passwords and characters from memorable words just to access the account. How does Trading 212 bypass all that security that these other companies feel they need?. thanks
It’s your choice if you enable it.
The other bit was about if someone stole your email and password. They can’t just quickly add their bank account and take your funds.
As for the memory test like picking the 5th 8th and 11th letter, that’s a lot of fluff to look secure.
I’m very grateful I just need to use my fingerprint to unlock my phone and tap on the app to open.
AJ Bell is a right faff on desktop, but they now have fingerprint Auth on mobile.
So if someone got access to my account in order to withdraw money to their own account they would have to fund my account with their own card first.
They would then only be able to withdraw up to the amount they deposited unless they contact T212 and provide further ID.
It’s not impossible but it seems fairly robust.
Plus you do have to enter your password before you can make a withdrawal.
I’m no pro here but am security alert. I certainly don’t have any concerns. I’ve added and withdraw money with no hassle.
