How - Updating the desktop and android Trading121 software

How do you update the Trading121 software on the desktop or on an Android phone?

I couldn’t see an option to manually start the updating process.

Thanks

Trading212 software on the desktop is actually a web app that runs in your web browser. Updates are pushed from the back end by T212 so nothing for you to do. Modern software development is so advanced these days that minor updates can be deployed without any outages.

On your Android app, minor updates are probably done upon launching the app. For more significant updates it will notify you upon launching the app again because it has to remove the old .apk (Android installer file) and install the new one. You’ll find that out also by getting prompted to log in afterwards.

In both cases nothing for you to do but potentially re-login after an update.

I don’t work for T212 but I’m in a similar field and the software development cycles and deployment methods are more or less the same across modern fintechs (and other companies).

The web app doesn’t have an update option. You can, however, update your browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.), which will ensure optimal performance. If you’re using the mobile app on Android, the ā€˜Update’ button will appear in Google Play.

Using the desktop trading platform in Chrome, when I set a price alert and the price is reached then a banner notification appears briefly on the screen. However, I can easily miss seeing this. I would like to hear an alert sound also. Can this be done?

Push notifications (with sound) are only available on the mobile app. We’ll let you know if such are available on the web app in the future.
