The card was finally enabled for my account and that’s great!
The list of currencies displayed in https://www.trading212.com/cards is not exhaustive, therefore is it possible to know what would be the exchange rate that will be used in card transactions in other currencies?
I have a question for how many people have actually received a physical T212 card in the post.
Many months ago I ordered a card, paid the £4.95 and no card ever arrived. So I had to cancel it and get a refund.
I recently tried again after trying to give T212 the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was a one off.
Ordered another physical card, paid another £4.95, waited over two weeks. But again no physical card has arrived and I am again refunding the fee.
I have found out that T212 don’t post the cards themselves and was told that once sent T212 have no way of tracking deliver or know the posting etc.
I’ve never actually met someone who has received a physical card in person - so just wanted to get an estimate for if anyone has actually gotten a physical T212 card from T212?
If so how long did it take to arrive and how long ago did you order it?
You should see it in your app it’s extended to 1st January 2025?
Re ordering card, mine took a week. They’ve posted on the forum some users have had issues re format of their address, it could be that? In the short term if you want a physical card, you could link up a virtual card with CURVE? I do that so I can use Garmin pay.
Are any retailers excluded from the T212 card cashback scheme? I made a purchase on Amazon UK (marketplace) yesterday lunchtime and cashback hasn’t been added yet.
However, a transaction I made with Google wallet for my lunch has tracked fine. Maybe T212 approved of my lunch choice?
Edit: Received the cashback the day after this post, so just took a bit longer than expected
Would it be possible to make the confirmation via SMS / email code?
I never had the mobile app and i find it super annoying to install it just for this purpose.
in theory, this is a nice percentage. But in practise their cashback does not apply to most things. In reality I calculated less than 0.09% cashback is paid on my spending. Most retailers don’t apply due to what ever blocked merchant code they provide.
Even amazon is reported as “miscellaneous” and you get nada form that shiny TV you splashed on. (In fact I see nothing on the statement paying cashback other than grocery stores)
I know, I know “what the retailer is reported as” but I don’t see any other card with this many restrictions on cashback.
This is yet again one of those things that’s not comparable to other retailers like AMEX which “only” pays 0.5% and has annual charge. In the end cashback from AMEX pays more than it’s charge and more cashback left afterwards…
So If you use the card for other reasons like spending in a foreign currency or utilise the daily paid interest go for it, it’s nice. The cashback is nothing more than a marketing banner that you can’t click “close window” fast enough.
I have realised there is a delay in when the cash back is shown and today I had to go into the actual cash back ‘This Month’ for it to rest, so happy now!
My plastic card arrived yesterday.
Today I managed ti test it out with chip and pin, then contactless and then Apple Pay.
All 3 transactions were flawless and this will probably change how I do my finances from month to month.
