Italian or Canadian Stock exchanges

Any plans to add the Italian or Canadian listed stocks onto the platform?

I’m sure they are already in the works or on the list of things to get to. I am looking forward to seeing some Canadian stocks available as there are a few companies I have had my eye on over the last week.

would love to see Canadian listed stocks on here

@shehvaarkhan Borsa Italiana isn’t in the pipeline but Toronto Stock Exchange definitely is.

Expect an announcement pretty soon.

Any update on the Toronto Stock Exchange. I would like to open up a position in XBC.TO

Thanks!

Why isn’t in pipeline? I think Borsa italiana is a good addition

@Piero22

We’ve currently launched Borsa Italiana but for ETFs only, as stocks have very specific transaction fees.

Hi @David, it’s nice to know that Borsa Italiana is also present on Trading 212 now!
Which ETFs have been added? Is there a list of already tradable ETFs? Will ETFs be fractional?
Are stocks difficult to add due to the transaction tax?

@Domenico Just a few, the selection will be expanded as time goes on. Will they be fractional - yes but not immediately.
Stocks are indeed difficult to add due to the transaction tax.

Thanks for the reply @David .
This is an added value to continue investing with Trading 212.
Do I just type “Borsa Italiana” in the search bar to find the ETFs launched?

I hope that ETFs will soon be made fractional and that you will find a solution for stocks.
If you update us with a post when they become available it will be greatly appreciated.

Yep. You can also do the same for other stock exchanges.

Having ETFs on Borsa Italiana is the same as the other EUR countries stock exchanges, speaking about the currency side.

Or you have a different tax treatment if you buy ETFs from Borsa Italiana instead from Xetra for example?

French and UK stocks have similar issues (transaction tax) and US stocks (FINRA & SEC fees).

Doing the research, there are currently only three ETFs on Borsa Italiana.

At the moment I don’t have different tax treatments if I buy ETFs from different exchanges. But on Borsa Italiana listed some ETFs that are not listed on other stock exchanges.
However, I find it a good start to have Italian stocks shortly.

Indeed if it is possible to bring the shares you mentioned, it should be possible to bring the Italian shares too despite the transaction fees.

T212 already added the Euronext Brussels and now 3 ETFs from Borsa Italiana, so it seems that it’s more close than before.

Yes, Borsa Italiana is one of the main ETFs markets, with Xetra and Amesterdam.
