Minimum Puchase

what are you disagreeing with @Sharedealer ? since you’re repeating what’s already been said.

nobody is making a case against cost averaging, just that your complaint about the minimum is you being difficult as T212 built in the ‘value’ feature explicitly to allow £1+ worth of fractionals be purchased no matter if its Tesla, Berkshire or Rolls Royce. it’s a feature, not a “workaround”.

as soon as you talk about wanting to buy a cash amount of a share, you are no longer thinking in terms of shares, but value. “I want to own 0.1 shares of Z” is not “I want to own £1 worth of share Z”.

Very true - when buying shares we no longer have to think in terms of the share, but how much we wish to invest in that company.

On a limited budget spreading the purchases over time is important and the ability to purchase any share, no matter what the share price is at is a new way of operating that takes time to get used to.

The only problem with buying set amounts, like £10 for example is that you end up with amounts of stock that are hard to add up. If you can buy 0.008 at least this number is not followed by a lot of other digits.
