Move 'You own' Higher

When selecting a company from the Investments list (left), could you amend the right side to bring the ‘You own’ section above the fold / higher?

The issue - it currently requires us to scroll down the right side of the page for every company in our investment list to see the total performance of that investment + positions details - which is far from ideal.

(Zooming out doesn’t bring the needed details into view until you’re really zoomed out and can no longer see the text.

If this info was above the fold - all users need to do is click through the Investments list (left side) and only glance at the right side to see the total performance + position details - which is much more convenient, faster, and more useful

Personally I’d find this extremely useful - saving me having to scroll so much.

Thank you!

A quick fix just came to mind:

Make it so that when we click on a new company in the Investments list, the right side stays in the same position it was left in prior to clicking on a different company.

This way, we can click from one company onto the next and the right side stays in place ‘fixated’ on the exact section we care about.

Thanks for your feedback and the detailed explanation :fist_right: :fist_left:

We’re always looking for ways to improve usability, and this suggestion is appreciated.

Allow me to correct you right here:

The issue - it currently requires us to scroll down …

It requires you to scroll based on the device/settings that you are using.
What kind of ungodly device/resolution/settings are you using?

Even on a measly 1080p with no scaling/zoom I can see number of shares, return and average price without having to scroll down.

Besides, any reason why not look for this info in the table on the Home page?
There you can see the number of shares, avg price, current price, market value etc. for multiple instruments without having to click through them one by one at all.

I’m on a laptop:

Appologies that my suggestion offended you so much Mr Toast.

I’m sure I’m not the only person that would benefit from this change - but I could be wrong - happy for people to reply and say if they want this or not.

This table? Yeah, can’t see the info there either - but this would double the work - having to add all companies to a watchlist and keep this list up to date. And it doesn’t solve the issue anyway - so I’m not sure what you’re suggesting.

I’m using the ISA account.

Out of curiosity - could you post a screenshot? Text must be really tiny for you to fit the chart + all the position info - surely!

Personally I prefer to see the chart first. But it might make sense to have the chart’s position be configurable (like the rest of the sections, which can be reordered already), so anyone can move it where they like it the most. :handshake:

No, I mean the table in Advanced view that shows all your instruments. This one:

I could but I don’t think it will translate over the internet anyway, since the physical size of the display itself also makes the difference. It is perfectly legible for me though on a 65" TV at 1080p, 100% scaling and no browser zoom from about 3m away.

Also, I forgot to mention I have the Windows bottom panel set to auto-hide and I don’t have any additional toolbars in my browser (besides tabs and address bar). So I guess that helps gain some extra vertical real estate
And when I’m on my PC with 27" 1440p display, it is even less of a problem there.

Oh brother, I’m not about to spend my hours managing and updating a watchlist - when the investments list is right there - already up to date. I don’t see how that would make sense for anyone to do.

I don’t think @Bogi.H and his team think much about how well the platform works on TVs :rofl: and why would you pick on me when like a normal person I use a laptop and provide feedback about how things look and work on a universally used resolution? And then say “allow me to correct you right here … errr… it’s YOU…”

… I don’t even understand why you shot my feedback down :man_facepalming::man_facepalming::man_facepalming:

Let’s say then that my feedback applies to laptops only excluding those with 4k displays.

Oh boy… Well, let me congratulate you on your complete lack of understanding and misinterpretation of everything that I wrote.

I will, however, give you one more chance and try to explain once more.
Perhaps your reception is just a bit weak right now.

Oh brother, I’m not about to spend my hours managing and updating a watchlist

You misunderstood. Again. At this point it feels like you are just refusing to understand on purpose?
It’s not a watchlist you have to manage manually.
It’s literally a list of investments that automatically shows all your open positions.
You haven’t even bothered to look at the screenshot, let alone try it out yourself, have you?

… how well the platform works on TVs …

You realize it’s literally just a display, right?
Makes absolutely no difference, I can take the PC that’s currently connected to it, plug it into another display, and assuming the same settings (1080p, no scaling, no zoom), it will show the exact same content. like it does now (meaning nothing will be hidden under a “fold”)

I use a laptop and provide feedback about how things look and work on a universally used resolution?

I also occasionally use a laptop with 1080p display and guess what - I don’t experience the problem on that device either because I don’t use 125% scaling like you do…
It’s almost like the “universally used resolution” is not the only variable, but there are other factors which you didn’t bother to consider before assuming that you are the benchmark of all users.

You could’ve stopped and think for a bit before replying with all that nonsense, but I guess you just had to force yourself to be the smart one, huh?
It’s too bad you picked only lousy arguments to attack me.

And to think I actually went into this discussion with honest curiosity, trying to understand your setup and help you.

Oh well, on the list you go…

All right, ma’am, let’s all take a breather here.

TLDR: So the chart just needs the ability to be included in the existing ‘re-order’ feature.

The most appropriate way to do this would be to allow the chart and you own panels, plus any other information groups to be ordered by the user on the page. So we don’t just respond to 1 specific user’s preference for the order of information. The only non-configurable item is the chart itself.
