My shares in New Gold (NGD.TSX) were liquidated for $0 and I acquired shares in Coeur Mining (CDE.TSX) in return as per the acquisition for New Gold by said group. When I open the stock page in T212 There is a buy sell button, but when I click on the buy button I get a message saying that Trading is limited, and an explanation is given that “The instrument is set to close-only. You can close or reduce existing positions, but new orders are not allowed”. There is a CDE trading on the NYSE. Is this a normal way of doing things ? So far the stock has gone down in value. Will the price now stay the same for everyone or will the price go down as people sell?
As per the terms of the deal, shareholders are entitled to receive 4959 shares in Coeur Mining, Inc. (CDE) for every 10000 shares held in New Gold, Inc. (NGD). NGD positions will be closed at CAD 0 per share.
