Why does it take so long to execute a sell order on invest? Why is it not instant for example today I still have a stock on pending after I tried to sell it over 10min ago!

I would start with the first answer, because you need someone to buy it. beyond that its likely a small hiccup that cancelling and trying again can often sort out in the short term.
I assume you are selling on market order?
@Chris84 We’re having issues during the market opening with a few stocks - it’s going to be fixed tomorrow.
