Stock Limits Visibility

I asked if the limit for Strategic Minerals (SML) could be raised but got no reply.

Last night I posted a dm asking the same question and was told by Ivan that “all customers are informed when limits are raised”.

I decided to test the limit by placing a huge order (for 10000000 shares) and got an error message stating I had insufficient funds, not that I was exceding the cap. I managed to place an limit order for 165000 shares which filled this morning.

I have spent this morning chatting to T212 to find out how I can find the limits on stocks.

  1. If I use the app on my phone and search for a stock, the limits are not shown - not even if I check on Instrument DETAILS
    1. If I log on to T212 on my laptop and then search for
stock, the limits are not visible

Eventually, i was sent a link to the following address:

https://www.trading212.com/trading-instruments/invest

If I search for a stock from this page then the limits are displayed immediately.

How the hell am I meant to know this web address, and that it is the only one that shows stock limits?

Why are limits diplayed to the general public, but invisible when logged onto my T212 account?

Please make this fundamental information available at all times.

Now that I’ve found out how to find the stock limits (Max Order Size/Max Posotion Size), I’ve started looking at stock I’m interested in for the next financial year.

Searching for National Grid or Ticker NG gives no result. I only find the information for this stock if I search by ISIN

Thank you for sharing the feedback. It would be helpful to see the maximum order quantities directly in the app, without having to switch to the website. We’ll review this internally and consider it as part of future improvements.

You’ll “consider it”? That’s like Ford considering putting a steering wheel on their cars.
