Every other platform I use has the ability to switch between a āsimple rate of returnā (your gain/loss as a percentage of the total sum invested) and some form of ātime-weighted rate of returnā (some algorithimic magic takes into account when you deposited the money and the time value of money in your account).
All the rating agencies (morningstar etc.) use this time-weighted rate of return to compare investment products as it provides a fair comparison irrespective of when an individual deposits money into any given investment.
It would be cool to have this feature on T212 so that we could compare our stock picking performance in T212 to the performance of other investments elsewhere!
We donāt have any plans to introduce that feature at the moment. Our focus recently has been on introducing other features like the 212 Card, 24/5 trading, an overhaul of our web app, etc. Still, we appreciate the feedback and will let you know if there is any news for implementing such a feature.
When selecting different time periods unfer the chart on the fronpage (e.g. 1d, 7d 1m etc.) Whilst the chart changes, the % change doesnāt. Nor do the returns of holdings.
What i would love to see is, for example, if I select 1d, then how much has my portfolio value changed by (both in Ā£ and %) in this time period?
Also, each of the holdings shown should also show change in value and % in the same time period.
At the moment, if i see that my portfolio has increased in value today, there is no easy way to find which shares have contributed to that increase other than by going into each holding and selecting ā1dā.
Not only that i want to see my money weighted returns and of each year, if you sell stock and re allocate it on this app your total returns goes down according to them but this is wrong. we need far better tools than we have.
