In the CFD account, it says that the S&P500 Index expires on 17 december 21. Does it mean, that if I buy, then I have to hold it until this date? Or it automatically sells it on this date? Or can I buy and sell at any time? Then what does the expiry date mean?

In a nutshell, you can Buy/Sell Indices anytime. In case you have an open position after the expiry date, it will be automatically rolled over to the next contract. There’s additional information on the topic in the thread here.
