Besides Trading 212 I am also investing on XTB. They offer the following BTC proxies as ETPs: VBTC, BTCE, XXTB. Keep in mind, not CFDs.
Under Invest here, Trading 212 offers similar various BTC proxies but why are they only available as “View-only”? You offer them on the CFD platform instead. Yes they are not UCITS compliant ETFs but they are ETPs under European exchanges same as various other available products e.g. MAG7 which is a 5x leveraged ETP we are able to trade no problem.
I am surprised to see it possible on XTB but not here, especially since they are much more careful with adding products e.g. they are not keen on adding high-risk / low liquidity ETPs.
I don’t see the reason why Trading 212 Invest is able to offer plenty of non-UCITS ETPs but somehow restricts the BTC ETPs. Due to this limitation I am forced to use other platforms for crypto exposure.
I assume my account is still under the UK entity, since it has been opened long before they introduced the EU entity.
Then this means I would have to close my account entirely and go through the whole process of opening a new one to gain crypto exposure. Guess I will have to stick with the other brokers for this then, quite sad.
