Can anyone pls tell me how to setup this 2fa?
do i need 2 phones?
t212 is asking to scan documents

i never had this 2fa and never wanted, but now i am forced to get this for withdrawl.

i dont even know wat is this authintivator apps are or how it works.

i am very old school and still windows95

anyone can help pls?

You should be able to set it up all on one device. I use the Microsoft Authenticator app (Android/iOS), but other apps, such as Google Authenticator, Authy, Okta etc. should also work.

thanks. On t212 app it says to take a picture a document , passport etc. It does not go ahead. does it give me some code?

I donā€™t think documents/passports are required for setting up MFA/2FA. Are you trying to set up your T212 account?

no i am using t212 past 5 years. i tried to withdraw money after a long time. while doing that it said 2fa is mandatory. i then went to do activate 2fa on the app. it says will take a quick photo. but on next screen it is asking to take photo of a doxument rather then a selfie as it says in the guidance.

i dont think soā€¦ now its enforced and mandatory while withdrawing money. it shocked me as i was not pre informed.

We recently made the Two-factor authentication mandatory before you can withdraw funds. This change was applied to ensure thereā€™s extra security for all clientsā€™ accounts and funds. You donā€™t need multiple devices for this. Once you set up the 2FA, your device will be a ā€˜trusted deviceā€™ and youā€™ll be able to instruct a withdrawal.

You can enable the 2FA from Settings ā†’ Privacy & Security ā†’ Two-factor authentication. If youā€™re enabling it for the first time, weā€™ll ask you for a selfie and photo/s of an ID document to verify thatā€™s you. Then, youā€™ll need an authenticator app (for example, Authy or Google Authenticator), in which you can paste the key from the Trading 212 app. A screen recording and a detailed guide on how to enable the feature can be found in this article.
