Yeah thatâs what it does. I just did it.
Essentially takes you back to the login screen. You login, reset your colour scheme and youâre all good to go again with a less weighty app.

Press it. I dare you.
(So long as you know your login details).
Oh but i did right after the screenshot
And yeah, data is pretty much login details, transaction history and stock data for stocks youâve researched, which over time would start to accumulate.
This is a known issue that weâre actively looking to resolve. In the meantime, clearing the appâs data should suffice as a temporary solution.
Iâll update the thread once I have more info
Hey!
Weâve identified the problem, and the fix is already on its way.
Upon updating to version 5.146.0
, you would have to clear your User Data one last time, after which storage usage will return to its minimum values.
The cause of the User Data explosion was due to a miscommunication with Googleâs WebView API, which we use to display the charts throughout the app. This was causing the WebView to create duplicate files under the User Data category repeatedly.
We only use the User Data cache to enhance the experience in some way, like saving network traffic, shaving off milliseconds for some requests, etc.
Regardless, we want to thank all of you for contributing information, which helped immensely in solving this.
Iâm on 5.146.0 now, so Iâll clear app data (~5GB now) and hopefully the issue wonât come back. Thanks a lot for the fix and the explanation on the root cause, really appreciated!
Maybe it would be a good approach to also send an in-app notification, only for Android users, telling them the latest update included some fixes related to app size optimisation, and that if their app is taking up too much space they may want to clear the data of the app (also reminding them theyâll need to re-login), after which the issue shouldnât happen again.
Saying this as most people are not really technical, and they may overlook the app size even if itâs been growing for the last 1+ year, so it would be a good thing to just let them know
Thanks for the suggestion, @matteventu
We made sure to double-check our records, and weâve notified everyone who has reported this that a fix has been rolled out.
Mine takes up almost 38 GB!
What does âclear user dataâ mean? Is that storage or cache (or both)?
And will doing this clear out my watchlists/price alerts etc?..
Thanks
No, you watchlist, alerts are safe. You will mostly likely need to login again though.
