Add an option to reinvest the announced dividend on the ex-dividend date.
Now one could maximise the amounts bought by making use of the price drop.

There are only certain stocks you can select to DRIP and the benefit imo is more time in the market. That said there’s normally a date much closer to pay date that the market selects for the DRIP price but not always, depends on the stock.
