Feedback: Price Alert UI requires too many clicks

The last update (months ago) to the ā€œCreate Price Alertā€ popup feels like a HUGE step backward in terms of usability. Setting a simple alert now requires multiple unnecessary clicks and menu expansions, which creates a high-friction experience for users.

The main issues with the current UI:

  • Hidden Options: Timeframes and ā€œRecurringā€ settings are tucked away in dropdowns or secondary menus.

  • Excessive Clicks: What should be a 2-second task now requires 4–5 clicks to confirm basic parameters.

  • Lack of Visibility: You can’t see your full alert configuration at a glance without opening menus.

Suggested UI Improvement: I’ve mocked up a streamlined version that prioritizes speed and ā€œone-tapā€ configuration:

  1. Direct Toggle for Alert Type: Switch between ā€œPrice Targetā€ and ā€œPrice Changeā€ immediately at the top.

  2. Exposed Timeframes: No more dropdowns. All timeframe options (1H, 24H, 7D) are visible as a button row for instant selection.

  3. Visible Recurring Toggle: A simple toggle switch on the main screen for the ā€œRecurringā€ feature.

I agree and I would like to mention the additional nonsense one has to do to add a note to the alert.

Amen. Such a crucial tool for trading and following pricing without watching 1000’s live ticker simultaneously, and they downgraded it severely. It was perfect.

Reaffirming the request for the Price Alert to revert back to its clearer, streamlined and effective layout UI.

  • On the overview screen, remove ā€œshow moreā€, they should all be listed. Limit it to 5 or 6 per stock.
  • Show the ACTUAL PRICE when changing by a Percentage.
  • % Price Change, has the option for + or -, Bidirectional isn’t helpful.
  • Add quick delete button again, no need to open a new window.
  • Price Alert UI should all be in one window.
  • Add Note back to the main window, below the price. So there is only one Save/Set Price Alert button. Absolutely no need for a second window to add the very important notes to Price Alerts. We have to press save twice, to add for a Price Alert with a note. Where on Earth is the logic in that?!
  • Remove the inbuilt numpad, on the mobile app, OS one is just fine, and it can manipulate the cursor within the price. Your inbuilt one cannot, which means dramatically increased inputs e.g. delete>delete>delete>delete>new number. Instead of clicking/tapping for cursor location>delete>new number.
  • Add the clear green +, red -, colours back.
  • Add switch for ā€˜Recurring’ instead of yet another pop up window.
  • Add a timescale or market/time frame close option, day close, week close, month close.
  • You need to move the the investment sort/filter back to the investment panel, instead of being in the Gear icon above the account value, for quick ability to sort the investment list.
  • X & Y values need adding the Account Value chart, baffling they were removed.
  • Its great that cost basis is now available in the Account Value, but I don’t see it representing timeframe value change accurately. Overall change should also be sown, along with the selected time frame (DxWxM, 3M etc) change from previous.
  • Option for time frame to begin at start of day, or week. Instead of the rolling time frame.
  • Please change the one tick increment on the new small watch list ticker tape. On desktop it is a ridiculous amount of mouse clicks going through large number of watchlists.
Make it dynamic grab and move, or add it back to the top of the screen and make full width.
Desktops are on large monitors, no need for just 776px wide graphical screen?

To add, on desktop, the note textbox needs to have the cursor manageable using the mouse, like any other textbox on the entire internet and desktop programmes.
It has to be a bug because theres no way it would be a concious decision to only have a text cursor manageable using keybaord, like we’re back in thew 70’s
