GameStop & AMC Entertainment In Reduce-Only Mode

So can you buy fractional shares through them?
This might be the issue that t212 is trying to prevent ie more trades increased costs for t212?

The answer is simple. They explain clearly why they are doing it when you try to open a trade.

ā€œMitigating risksā€. Their choice. You have no right to be able to buy a particular stock.

I donā€™t think it is a conspiracy theory or any such nonsense but I donā€™t see how you can deny what I saidā€¦if retail investors are restricted in being able to continue certain long trades that helps hedge funds (no matter how misguided you might believe the trading to be - I donā€™t really disagree with you on that but that isnā€™t the point).

What is the reason for the choice? Are we using a managed broker firm now?

Risks for who? They donā€™t mitigate the risks in cfd so why are they concerned about us now?

So long as its a profit maker for them they let it continue

If itā€™s in the interest of your clients then youā€™d let us make our own choice T212, instead of forcing your choice onto us.

The interest of the clients i presume is not about individual shares but trying to stop the whole system grinding to a halt. I completely understand why t212 want to reduce load on their systems even if I think the solution is a poor sticking plaster which doesnā€™t address the root problem of poor system performance.

This might be a good thing for the FOMO investor to be honest. Both GME and AMC have gone parabolic recently. Yes there may be more room to grow but at this point if you donā€™t have a position already youā€™re more likely to lose money.

Edit: Iā€™m going to backtrack and say people should be able to buy. Let the free market decide. Itā€™s your own risk.

Itā€™s not conspiracy if itā€™s true. Regardless of market share, they still have a market share. If itā€™s costing them more money then fine. I myself will be looking for a different broker if itā€™s not protecting their costs. If they are being paid in anyway I hope it comes out and bites them on the ass.

You obviously have no clue as to what is happening in the market right now so pipe down and carry on with your boomer value stocks which are falling right now.

Surely this is market manipulation? How can this be a free market if I cannot choose what to do? I am literally being restricted to buy what I want with MY MONEY! The only option is to short a stock, that is a blatant abuse of power.

Whatā€™s next? Selling my stocks for me because there are restricted shares available?

Rigged. No positive way to spin this.

Trading212 lets only sell but not buy GME. Who does it serve this ā€œrestrictionā€?

Funny that they only allow us to sell
I am a long term investor, so I will sell only in 10 years

It feels like they try to make us Sell GME because the fat cats are loosing Ā£ā‚¬$. So you can sell but you canā€™t buy more and they put a big red notice above. What a disgrace!!
