GameStop & AMC Entertainment In Reduce-Only Mode

This is bullshit. I have no actual words over what they are doing right now and they cant give a valid reason for it.

Can you please explain how I am supposed to sell any shares if all the trading platforms wonā€™t let people buy??

Actions like this are what is fuelling the run on GameStop, AMC, Nokia and Blackberry

212 & others Absolutely robbing their customers blind

If they forced closed positions they wouldnā€™t have a businessā€¦ that isnā€™t market manipulation thatā€™s a crime and the owners would end up in court for defrauding investors.

Market manipulation is also a crime I donā€™t really get what your point is

If itā€™s a crime how can hedge funds get away with it.

How much do you want to bet that the owners of the app and employees can trade how ever they want and are making so much money trading GME whilst we cant touch it.

WHAT THE FUCK?

This my money and i wont to invest it when i want it and how i want it.

Warning!

In the interest of mitigating risk for our clients, we have temporarily placed GameStop and AMC Entertainment in reduce-only mode as highly unusual volumes have led to an unprecedented market environment. New positions cannot be opened, existing ones can be reduced or closed.

WTF?

And I thought the CFD shit they pulled was bad for them

Anyone here know the laws and regulations regarding this? We need to take an action for yesterdays and todays behaviour.

This is unacceptable. It is NOT your responsibility to decide for us what we should or should not invest in - investing IS risk, and it always has been. This is nothing more than manipulation in nicer words.

As soon as my current investments are tied up Iā€™ll be moving to another platform, this is laughably transparent.

Is this even legal? I might understand in CFD restraining a buy or sell because you bet against Trading212 but why do you restraun us from buying (some very specifically) stocks in Invest with our money and with NO leverage or risk for Trading212 ???
I donā€™t think this is legalā€¦ you might get involved in some lawsuits if someone wants to sue you. I don care, donā€™t own GME or AMC nor care to buyā€¦ but this is not ok

Iā€™m beginning to liquidate my T212 positions this morning with the intention of moving over to another broker. As and when my current positions reach a point where Iā€™m happy with the profit Iā€™ll come out and draw down my funds with you. I may use T212 for some short-term, speculative, high-risk trades in future but itā€™s time to move to an adult broker. Based on the last few days I canā€™t trust you with my savings.

Regardless of the reasons for banning buys, it isnā€™t for you to dictate risk to me. Itā€™s my money and I should be free to buy and sell based on my own risk assessment - I think AMC will go up later, regardless of the reasons why, and whether I think itā€™s a good thing or not, and so I want to buy some and make some profit. Youā€™re denying me that opportunity, so Iā€™m going elsewhere to a broker who can handle my business.

Either your business model, your morals or your servers/tech do not allow me to operate in a way that Iā€™d like, so Iā€™m voting with my feet and going elsewhere. Others can make their own judgements, but whilst I really like the UI of your app, the community here, some of the novel ways of working (e.g. pies), ultimately Iā€™m here to make money.

Best of luck to everyone else. :+1:t3:

I cannot believe this is happening, we do not need hand holding, itā€™s our money and if we want to risk it, itā€™s our problem.

Please allow people to make their own decisions. Thank you.

Explain to me how this is even legal?
We understand the risks. Itā€™s our money and our investment. You have no reason to ā€œprotect usā€ other than to save your hedge fund buddies. Are you at least going to allow us to buy stocks once the market opens again? Thanks for letting me know not to use your services in the future by the way.

I like the long term price of GS and AMC

Please let me in on the joke. Is it your opinion that this move is in any way justified? Iā€™d love to hear why.
