We always check the currency in which your transaction is first. If its balance is insufficient, we will check your account’s base currency. If that also can’t cover the transaction and you have cash in other currencies, we will use the next currency with the most free funds.
Keep in mind that a single transaction will always be completed in one currency. We won’t combine funds from multiple currencies to complete the purchase.
Is this feature being released gradually or is it country-dependent? I haven’t received a notification and haven’t had any FX transactions in the past day so I’m wondering if this applies to me.
Please do it, as only card fx fee waving is just a small fraction of your company. If you wave all the fx fees systemwide, you’ll get more customers. Thanks.
Hey, @Greedless9569 - the change is not being released gradually and isn’t country-dependent. All future payments you make with the 212 card in a foreign currency will be fee-free.
Let us be realistic… Trading 212 has to make money from it’s operations it can’t therefore remove all the FX fees and interest spreads and commisisions completely otherwise we will have to find another platform that will not be able to give it’s members such good offers.
Hello, if I use my T212 card to top up other external account (e.g. Revolut) will it also be with zero fx fee or is it only for payments in shops ? I assume cashback is also only for shop payments…
Yes, there are no FX fees when using the card now. This applies to all transactions, regardless if making an online payment, an in-shop payment or topping up an external account.
