The waitlist message has changed to “Coming this fall” for me (in EU). I guess the EU bureaucracy was underestimated initially.
I am personally waiting for the card release before making larger deposits.
If I were a betting man, I would put my chips on previous UK experiences that have shown some issues to iron out, before issuing more cards (e.g. EU cards).
You are right - the summer flew by, and we still have a few minor details to iron out before launching in the EU. But we are getting close though.
Now, with the risk of frustrating those of you who still don’t have your hands on the 212 card, we have launched a new feature: Single-use 212 card.
This card generates new details after each use, making it an even more secure way of making transactions online.
Currently, it’s enabled for 10% of the eligible clients. It will be gradually rolled out to everyone throughout the week.
Hey thanks for this cool feature! Can you please answer who these eligible clients are and if in the future we will be able to get cashback on single use cards?
I was referring to UK clients with access to the T212 card.
Cashback works just the same
Greeting.
Maybe after 1 month we can have a card. I received an email about the changes that are effective from then on
What really is frustrating to me is that I am on the waitlist like forever, I don’t even hold the card in my hand and it allready states “1.5 % cashback until 1 Nov 2024”. I am not sure at this point, if I still want that card anymore.
You can add the virtual card into Google Wallet and you can pay with it for the cashback. It works online and offline (in the store) as well. You only need the physical card for cash withdraw, nothing else.
But we can’t get the card at all in Europe. Not a physical one, not a virtual one, nothing. It only says “you’re on the waitlist”.
I hope there will be a card after October 25 and the date of the November discount will be rewritten to December.
Happy to update that I got the T212 card in the EU. Signed up for it around 3 weeks ago. AMA.
Which EU country?
It’s weird, as there aren’t any official communication about the launch of T212 card in EU. And there any many people already signed for months and still in waitlist.
@KrisG , can you add some clarification on this?
Denmark.
Was surprised myself, as I thought I am at the back of the line. Unless there is a separate waitlist for each country within EU.
Is there any chance of allowing the Post Office?
I also had my T212 card rejected at one today.
Even if you don’t award cashback on such transactions, it would be good if the card could be used to pay for stamps!
It seems like a very odd exclusion.
Belgium here.
I’m also waiting for the card since several months now.
So I’ve no idea if / when to expect it.
Will the card also be launched and ready for ordering for norwegian residents and the other EEA countries when you launch in Europe?
Considering for an example:
"# Free Movement of Capital
The free movement of capital is covered by Articles 40 to 45 of the EEA Agreement and Annex XII of the EEA Agreement. It is one of the fundamental freedoms that underpin the Internal Market (free movement of people, goods, services and capital).
For EEA nationals, it means the ability to perform many operations abroad, as diverse as opening bank accounts, buying shares in non-domestic companies, investing where the best return is, and purchasing real estate. For companies, it principally means being able to invest in and own other European companies and take an active part in their management."

And that Paynetics seems to include EEA in services they offer in EU (EU/EEA)
I got one today from Finland. Joined the waitlist in Mid May or so.
No Apple Pay support yet.
Got it today, Croatia. When I opened the app it just appeared.
I’m waiting to be available in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
