How many days is now taking usually for verification processes ?

I have been waiting for about three weeks now and still no updatesā€¦

For verification, or for opening an account ?

ID verification. It has been stuck in the ID verification phase for three weeks nowā€¦

My wife has an account and holds a small portfolio already but is not able to access the ISA platform.

To summarize the topic (which will answer some of the questions above):

  • New account registrations is temporarily paused;
  • Currently pending verifications are also put on hold, i.e. accounts created back in the days, yet not verified up until we paused the onboarding;
  • Your referrals can either join via your link or simply can apply the unique suffix once we resume the onboarding. Weā€™re also exploring how to attribute your referral link to the current waitlist, which will ensure the attribution of referrals;
  • As much Iā€™d love to I cannot provide any timeframe about when to expect re-enable the account registration. Weā€™ll keep you posted - thatā€™s for sure.

Thank you for your efforts in trying to protect the service of existing users with the sudden unexpected influx of new users. The cost and service comparisons for simple investing is up there with the best, if not ā€˜theā€™ best, and some people donā€™t realise that they also had other options such as ā€˜limitā€™ trading not available on other platforms for the same pricing structure.

I hope it doesnā€™t put off people on the waiting list that they go elsewhere.

is it possible please to make an update, to know the queue number of waiting list for verification updates. It has been a weak or more that i am waiting to get verified, and do not have any idea how much should i wait ?

I canā€™t speak on behalf of the team, but I would imagine stability and scalability improvements of the existing system would surely be prioritised over adding new features.

The whole GME saga and what followed it has probably upset the development schedule, and more important and unexpected things had to be prioritised as a necessity.

Iā€™ve had an Invest account since June, Iā€™ve decided to transfer my Cash ISA into an ISA account but as I never activated an ISA I canā€™t open one. which means I canā€™t add any money into my account without losing my ISA benefits. It doesnā€™t seem fair.

there is no restriction to transfers in regards to your ISA allowance. there is also over a month to go until the tax year changes for new deposits and this will likely be resolved before then. it may seem unfair, but itā€™s fair in that all people are facing the same situation, nobody has been told they canā€™t sign up while others can.

It seems daft to transfer my Cash ISA out of the ISA wrapper and put into my invest account.

Agreed, unless you donā€™t think you could fill your ISA with it in the current/next financial year in which case a moot point.

From a quick read, once your ISA account is active, you can transfer over your cash ISA but this does look manual in nature and takes up to 30 days. What you wouldnā€™t want is for it to offset your current/next years ISA allowance.

Taking out of the ISA wrapper isnā€™t a transfer. Once you can make the ISA account you request T212 and your previous provider to manage the transfer. It stays inside the wrapper at all times and that transfer does not get counted against your ISA allowance so it doesnā€™t matter if you do it before or after the new tax year begins. The allowance only matters for new deposits and if you are transferring you can do that to your cash ISA until you can open a stock ISA?

I have an ISA, so not new customer. The pies are very limited because a number of instruments are not available. To use it to the full I believe I need to have an invest or cfd accountā€¦

At the moment you have now had a stop on new accounts for over 2 weeks.

You must be loosing customers hand over fist to other competitors, so please can you update on why this new account option will be open again.

Itā€™s hard to believe a tech company takes this long to deal with ā€œcustomer expansionā€.

Iā€™ve just clicked the ISA account and its opened a new account. So anyone whoā€™s locked into one account type give it a try.

Any plans on removing the new user block now that the GME drama has gone?

This is not related to GME, they still have a lot of new accounts to process and when that is over as it is explained above the registration will be opened again
