genuine curiosity as to which broker or platform these posts have in mind when they make their statements

I don’t think they do, this is a common theme in here, reddit or moneysavingexpert etc. even before fees there were posts like. “give us [random feature] or you’ll loose me” and everyone in their head is as important as Warren Buffet. That is why I’m saying take it easy

I suppose you don’t have any UK stocks because of their 0.5% stamp duty? perhaps no US dividend payers because their 15-30% withholding tax? since you don’t like the thought of the 0.15% FX rate adjustment.

I have a problem with any percent fee, and my problem at this time is same as my initial post on fees:

I still think people are missing the big picture here. 0.15% being higher or lower etc. The bigger problem is this will not be the last fee introduced On multiple occasions T212 staff made announcements here unequivocally stating that “there will not be new fees for existing features. Some new features may cost money in the future” And there has been two major fees since then. Deposit fees are kind of understandable because they cost money to T212. But this FX fee is introduced for pure extra…

I don’t believe this is the last fee, and I have 0% trust. This is not because they introduced a fee, it’s because they so easily flip-flop without even acknowledging, they flip flopped. When you post several times chivalrously that there won’t be any fees, and introduce a new fee and on that same post again say “hey guys there won’t be any fees”… then my apologies this naturally erodes trust.

I don’t even know why you are comparing taxes with fees. Yes paying those are also annoying but as the saying goes “there are two things unavoidable in life: taxes and death.”

FWIW there is no withholding tax in SIPPs, and yes I don’t own many UK stocks.
