Moving Average lines cut short

Please see attached. The 100 and 150 SMA are not being drawn across their respective periods, and the 200 is not drawn at all.

The stock in this instance is ASOS, which is a few years old.

[edit] This is the daily chart

I assume we don’t have 200days+ of history inside T212?

Yep… They have a maximum number of bars backwards. This can also happen if an instrument is added recently and there is not enough history available.

The 10, 20 and 50-day MAs go all the way back to the start.

This did a quick test and this is what I would expect. Like you need 50 days of trading data to be able to plot the first 50 day point. Etc

Thanks @phildawson - like you said, seems like T212 doesn’t have all the data.

How do you add the indicator for 9, 20-day moving averages? I type it in the indicator, and it doesn’t appear. Or are they called something else?

Hey, @Ethaniel_UK

You can type ‘Moving average’ in the indicator field and should see the option. Once you click on it, you can move your cursor to the name of the indicator in the top left and select the three dots. This way, you can customise the indicator and change the length to 20 or any other value you’d like.
