thank you for the update. Just tried the new view, but not seen some of the items you have mentioned… e.g. pop up message still there, no SL / TP shown on chart.

Forcing out what is basically still an Alpha, full of issues, isn’t the right way to go…

Brilliant, thank you! I cannot wait for Thursday!
Huge step forward from the limitations of Legacy to the new App.

Congratulations to a very responsive and customer centric Trading212 support team for providing this change.

This will be a huge selling point to people like I, without an age defying eyesight, who prefer desktops to mobile screens.

Hey @stablercarl I can confirm we will support creating CFD limit/stop orders through the Long/Short Position tools in the Advanced Charts. This will also be live by Thursday.

How do I add a SMA is it just under called ā€œMoving Averageā€?

Also how come the daily percentage increase/decrease isn’t displaying under the share price like it was yesterday?

Rather than the tiny figure on top of the news feed.

MA has three Input options under Smoothing Line (SMA, EMA, WMA). You can provide lengths as necessary (14, 20, 50, 200 etc)

Curious, the projections for one of my pies is considerably different between the legacy app and the new app on desktop. Almost £60k of a difference! :scream: Very odd

Nice to see that the web ui is getting some additional attention now, was it react native before as well as I recall seeing some components? On a more important note I find the whole thing a bit of a sidestep, some parts are better visually speaking while other parts are not. Love the work that you people do and I hope that I can convey everything here in a way that is actually useful for the team @Wit

Overall impression: lot of empty space yet still feels full

For all the examples I will use light mode as I feel like it illustrated the design choices best but ofc the same applies to dark/navy.

First of all and in my opinion the most important thing is that the spacing between elements is mostly removed and that depth has been mostly removed. See example:

The background is no longer darker than the theme color so no shadow is cast by the elements in the ui, which leads to this clutter feeling that everything is on the same level. Even a very light shade of gray can already make a huge difference:

(do not forget to add back privacy mode please)

What I do like is that the side menu is put on the top, however this newly created space should be utilized as to not make it feel like I’m looking at a tablet on my desktop, make things a bit wider please to use the empty space (i.e. the portfolio chart can be a bit bigger and additional space on the investments might even give enough space to make them into a full on descriptive list including the realized gains/losses/dividends for example). Additionally I would add back the space between the different elements, makes it feel more organized.

Finally another main thing for me would be to move the account status button to the right and have notifications next to it, seems way more intuitive.

Perhaps even put the notifications on the account status button itself. (don’t really like this myself but can see a use case if the modal for account status is changed up)

  • Love the asset allocation for the iShares ETFs, doing something similar for the pies to see sectors etc aggregated amongst the different ETFs/individual stocks would be really cool
  • very nice that settings now reopens through the button saving me a couple clicks when changing the same setting like theme
  • clicking on the menu tab once opened should just send you back to the tab you were originally in, i.e. close the menu tab upon a re click.
  • importing exporting investments manually into a pie should require less clicks imo (just a plus/remove icon)
  • for the advanced view I would like to reduce the number of clicks required to remove and rename a list. Double click on the name, click on the icon, and remove the cog icon and replace with a trashcan to remove.

All in all I think the new ui has great potential if you take advantage of the main feature of catering to larger screens: the space.

T212 can you tell us if the legacy platform will definitely be gone soon???

With the features I and others have mentioned gone, the platform won’t be usable for me, or probably anyone else, for day trading. Day trading is a lot about speed and clarity, and being able to set and adjust things on the chart directly.
I last checked in a few days ago - it’s disappointing to see no response.

ā€œSingle clickā€ ordering has recently been introduced elsewhere, (happens to be a horrible platform for other reasons) so it’s unfortunate that T212 has decided to get rid of it.

Update:

  • In order to make the transition to the new app smoother, we’ve decided to keep the legacy app around until the 15th of April instead of shutting it down tomorrow
  • Development of the new charting features is in its final stages. We will ship these later today or tomorrow at the latest. For Advanced View (TradingView charts), this includes syncing your charts across multiple devices, visualising price alerts, positions, TP and SL on the charts, with quick adjustments for each from the chart itself
  • Starting tomorrow, the new app will be the ā€œdefaultā€ for everyone. So, instead of having to opt in to using the new app, you’ll have to opt out, and that option will be available until April 15th in the Menu tab

Hi all, is there a way to see alerts, Take Profit and Stop Loss as horrizontal lines accross the chart, as there was in the old app? If there is an option to turn that on, I can’t find it anywhere! I can still create all of the above, but it would be usful if I could see them on the chart and be able to drag them up and down the price as required.

Thanks

Can we get again a split view for 12 charts?

Hi @Archie722, these features will be live tomorrow, they’re not available in the app yet.

Hey @Shorty68DE, we’re using TradingView’s charting engine which supports up to 8 charts in a split view.

Is that live in the Web Version? The other thing I can’t seem to find is an option to export trade history to CSV…?

Export trade history is still there at the below location :

I know it wasn’t there before, but would it be possible to place and show pending orders on he chart?

So one could place an order (pre-set size) then adjust SL and TP, all on the chart?
Currently - Placing a horizontal line and then reading its position in order to type in the figure, really is quite slow.
As I’m sure you know, some platforms do…

Thanks for extending the life of the legacy platform.

I’m not sure if this happens in the beta, but was a real pain in the legacy version : Notifications would stack up on the right covering all the info and functional elements necessary for a new instrument. They would often hang around for a long time, if not forever., and each needed to be closed individually. You could have 6 all only saying you’d changed a price alert position.
*ā€œTry it and seeā€ you might say!! But I’ll wait until it’s a bit more usable…

I have noticed a couple of bugs carried in from the legacy version, some described by others:
such as
¶ the chart price and price display not matching
¶ Stop losses triggering ā€œmiles fromā€ the correct place. Instrument price on successive candles can be 123.4, 123.4, 123.4, 123.4, and stop at 122.0 gets triggered.
There are other ā€œfeaturesā€ like that I hope will be absent now!

Not sure why, but mine doesn’t look the same or have that option in History:
