Russia - Ukraine

It’s strange as Ukraine has a decent amount of natural resources, they don’t have many companies listed on the stock exchanges, I can’t think of any other company either who has expose to Ukraine.

Polymetal is another miner with exposure to Russia

So again Putin has denied he is going to invade. When he says something he means it.

Whilst the US, media and the west keep on the unnecessary warmongering.

Bit of a one-sided argument don’t you think.

The latest development is really worrisome as if unchecked will set the precedence for new era. How long before China takes Taiwan and North Korea takes South Korea etc

I don’t think North Korea has much of a chance against the South.

@Scrooge_McCodf NK has nuclear deterrent. God forbid but they could easily reach and wipe out the entire population of South Korea given that they do not act rationally if kept under pressure that has left them with no other option. Extremely unlike but not impossible.
If the option is either I die or both us die which one do you think most people will do ?? If both parties die the could still continue fighting in hell.

Yeah - made of cardboard.

Don’t fall too much for memes; while NK had claimed nuclear ability for decades, it’s been a while that it is confirmed.
It may be a small arsenal, but still one of the very restrictive nuclear club.

Says he won’t invade. Then Sends troops into ukraine.

That aged poorly.

When he says something he means it.

Like when he said he’d fight corruption and threw the guy in jail who showed him where the corruption was.

Or like when he raided Hermitage Capital for showing him where corruption was which led to the Magnitsky act.

Or that time he said, I’m not invading Ukraine, it’s the West lying.

Or Skripal, Khodorkhovsky, Bill Browder, Navalny, Nevzlin, Lebedev or Gusinsky.

Oh.

I don’t blame Putin for his actions. We wouldn’t want Russia or China on our doorstep. Unfortunately Ukraine can’t have it’s cake and eat it while Russia remains a socialist state with Soviet nostalgia.

Not saying I support Russia but I understand why they’re doing what they are doing.

As investors it’s events like this that sadly (on a human level) create extreme opportunity.

You mean opportunity to buy stocks at cheap or what opportunity are you referring to?

Yes, that is exactly what I mean  When there is blood etc…

Don’t want to sound like doom and gloom but I think Europe in particular will have to confront some new geopolitical realities which it has refused to accept in recent decade(s).

Anyone keeping an eye on the MOEX today?

Here’s hoping it tanks further until they get some common sense.
