Stop Loss Limit Order

Hi T212,

I placed a stop loss limit order on Van Eck’s Gaming stock, but the system failed to execute the order when the price was reached. It shows the order was cancelled. This has happened a few times with this particular stock and is a concern as I was due to make huge gains with it each time. Instead, when actioned manually, I ended up making a loss as the price dropped so quickly.

Please could T212 advise why my order isn’t going through for this stock.

Based on how limits work, the system must have determined there were no offers within your acceptable price range and so did not trigger so as to prevent losing you money, as seen by your manual sell making a loss.
