Tesla stock split

This thread is impossible to read,

  1. outside of any pie, 0.4 will become 2?
  2. This is only for Tesla or also for apple?

Thx.

i’m glad it was clear for you @Vedran and others, but it wasn’t clear for me, and staff had stated to me that i Wasn’t getting any shares relating to my fraction… and in fairness this was recently changed as i, along with others were asking this a week or 2 ago and told the latter.

it would have been better to do a separate post pinned by Staff, as 200+ messages is unfair to have to go through when it originated from a customer and states several times no fractions will be included throughout…

So in a 5 for 1 split someone with 2 shares will now have 6. Looks about as clear as mud

I’ll ask u cus you seem to understand lol
Will 0.4 turn to 2?
Thx

loooooooooooool you’re taking the micky i tried to understand the split breakdown and was baffled.

In regards to Tesla YES 0.4 should be 2, how great is that!!!

In regards to Apple i have no idea.

so glad @Supraman and @PorterOldSlug posted as i would have likely sold my fraction today.

Thank you! lol.
Great, I think the messaging should clearly improve cus on chats agents are saying time after time fractional shares will not get split.
and they could not post a more complicated table…

I guess some folks skipped math at school.

Except that the stock split coefficient is 5 for Tesla, so anybody who uses the table to find out what will happen to their shares will get the wrong answer.

That is correct for Tesla.
For Apple, it’s 4-to-1, so it’ll become 1 share and 0.6 shares will be sold at the post-split price (or 0.15 shares at the pre-split price)

I agree, T212 should have guessed average Tesla investor is not a mathematician, so should made 1 to 5 split example, Apple folks would manage somehow to google the result for 1 to 4 split… :man_facepalming:

or maybe not provide a bad, complicated table and than bad chat support about the table…
I literally sent that table to a chat agent and he denied it…thats just bad messaging

the only bad thing is instant gratitude culture, where everyone expects everything on platter without investing time to read and use brain cells to get to conclusions.

LOL. I was able to decipher the table because I have a Tesla and an iPhone!

That’s absolutely not fair. We were given completely incorrect advice from official sources.

Instant gratitude culture, how an earth have you reached that conclusion!? after so many post on a subject which should have 1 consistent answer from staff in the forum, and staff via email. i’m unsure why you are trying to be strong and wrong vedran?

There is no reason for people to have to go back and forth to a forum message to check if T212 have changed their stance, especially when they have already been told their fraction will be sold.

This is a community forum, the post from a customer querying the matter, and unless you haven’t found the time to read the many post on the subject, it has been said many times that fractions will not be included.

To anyone new reading this post Tesla fractions are now included when the stock split occurs.

do you think its logical you explain this after the date the company declared you need to hold the stocks in order to get split?! And on a forum?! not an email, not a push messages to the app, a forum message that no one is getting a notification about, its not your facebook page man, people mange their money here and you need to make us trust you.
super bad messaging and lack pf professionalism, you guys need to get a writer that can write those messages in a way I dont need an Enigma to understand them.
I see it as a failure from your end, complete failure.
Improve it ASAP
Thx

Hey sorry if already answered I am still confused by all this. I had 5.8 tesla shares and from my understanding the 5 full shares would be split and the .8 fractional shares sold.

I then purchased another .2 shares today so that I had 6 whole shares.

One of the trading 212 live chat assistance told me I would only get stock split for the stocks I had on the 21/08. Which was 5.8, so only 5.

But a different live chat assistant told me I would get 6 split because I added on extra shares.

Could anyone help me with this? Thanks

That is incorrect. You’re 5.8 shares would’ve simply become 29 shares (5.8 x 5).

You didn’t need to do this, as explained above. However, you will now end up with 30 shares so probably no harm done, unless you care about average price and the 0.2 shares were much more expensive than your 5.8 shares.

That is incorrect. You have until tomorrow (Friday 28/08/2020) to buy shares that are eligible for the split.

That is partially correct! Yay! You will get 6 split shares but you would’ve got 5.8 split shares anyway.
