Trading 212 Card Cashback Refused

Has anyone else had any issues getting cashback on their purchases because of incorrect retailer classification. I recently purchased a headstone for a family grave using my T212 card but have been refused cashback as the stonemason is apparently a government department! Clearly this is not the case….

Even after providing a copy of the purchase invoice the T212 team have refused to change their position.

Any thoughts or others with similar experiences?

I wonder if the stonemason has registered as a Government department for tax reasons or has multiple businesses and uses the same account for various transactions and this leads to the wrong classification being used.

I would just say that T212 is only the intermediary of the transaction and the systems are only using the information provided by the businesses bank account servers, so not sure that T212 are the best people to reach out to, maybe the stonemasons you used could provide a clearer answer?

I have checked the payment in question, and it was indeed made to a merchant classified with code 9399 - Government Services. Unfortunately, how a company is registered/classified is beyond our control.
