Why is it so difficult to add money to the S&S ISA account? I have 4 different investing accounts and only with Trading 212 you have to jump through so many things to be able to transfer some money and at the end the transfer fail.
With HL, Fidelity and iWeb it takes 1 minute to transfer money, with Trading 212 I am already on 30 minutes in and still cannot transfer money to the account.
I am trying to make an Instant bank transfer( connected my bank account today) and when I try to transfer any amount of money from £1to £5000 it says I exceeded my limit. Did not transfer any money to this account since my Portfolio transfer got complete.
Today is the start of a new tax year - I wonder if it’s anything to do with resetting your allowance.
I’ve just logged into my ISA, clicked on the 3 lines bottom right, then on deposit funds and added a quid. It worked so perhaps if you try again now?
If not contact 212 in app for assistance.
Exceeding your limit could also be from your bank account, not 212 if you get through to the truelayer payment part. My bank has a limit of 10k daily, perhaps you have already done some other transfers today as well?
I just transferred a part of my 2025 allowance to iWeb and it took 1 min to deposit money and send buy order for tomorrow. When I try to transfer with T212 it says I exceeded my limit.
I tried with £1, £1000 and same response to both
My daily online limit is £20000 for my bank account
I only used £4000 for today
I’ll be honest, I have had about 5-6 failed Deposits lately.
I wasn’t sure if it was my bank, truelayer or T212 at fault. My bank was having payment issues last weekm for half a day, so I assumed it was them, but that was sorted pretty quickly and since then transferring from Nationwide Building Society has become a chore, so many failed attempts.
Also paying via Natiwonide → TrueLayer used to be a much smoother experience directing you to the Nationwide iOS app, but that never happens anymore you have to go to the webiste then authorise on the App and back to the website, then back to T212 app, its a right juggling act for what it is.
I used my transfer today twice for iWeb account from RBS and went straight through.
With RBS-Truelayer- T212 it says I reached my limit for today(I tried with £1 transfer). My daily RBS limit is £20k/day but I did not got any close to it.
I managed to transfer some cash with debit card, but still not managed to do instant bank transfer.
Not sure why T212 is charging 0.7% to transfer through debit card over £2000 deposited. No other broker I use charges for trying to give them money.
It’s because it costs 212 to deposit this way, so they encourage us to use truelayer as it’s free to keep the platform costs low.
Ask in the chat to speak to a human. I just deposited by RBS, so it’s an odd one it’s not working for you. Ask to raise it as a complaint - improve the service for the rest of us
