AutoInvest - Feedback

Hi

I created and funded a pie but confused about a difference in value. I invested £1000 into the pie and the main screen says I have invested 995 and the pie says I have invested £1000 as a result the main screen believes I am in growth and the pie believes I am in a loss ?

I assume this is due to stamp duty but its a bit confusing and should be the same for both?

Also a further question is it possible to sell a stock through the total investments tab? or you have to go into the pie to do so?

As in is there a quick way to get rid of a stock in totality if it is in several pies

@zazhar Most probably Ā£5 are still held as cash in the UK dividends pie. Can you confirm if that’s the case?

Hi just checked and there is £0 in cash within that pie the total amount that was invested it states is £1000

In regards to Auto invest I know it deposits and invest the funds depending on weight, would it be possible to pick the stocks you want the allocated funds to go in to ? E.g. 200 deposited on Friday but I wanted 100 to O and 100 to LTC

Kinda defeats the whole purpose of the pie system. I am sure you can just purchase those amounts outside the pies and then merge them into the pies in future when that ability is added if you really wanted to

You can do that by investing manually and choosing ā€˜Custom’ fund distribution.

One fancy feature that may be helpful, I think it was commented here before, is the ability to ā€œmuteā€ the investment in some stocks inside a pie.

You can achieve this manually but the whole thing is to distribute automatically the weight of the muted stocks among the others.

Pie 1
stock 1 - 20%
stock 2 - 20%
stock 3 - 20%
stock 4 - 20%
stock 5 - 20%

The stock 2 is muted… so all other changes automatically to 25% and stock 2 to 0% (with some indication that it’s muted).

Perfect. Just what I was wanting currently its very difficult to exclude a stock from a buy, as it means you have to go custom and calculate the percentages yourself and enter them one by one

Let’s hope we can get this autoinvest into the public before Robinhood come, and we’ll blow them out of the water

@CavanHaganInvesting interesting use of the line ā€œbringing commission-free investing to the UKā€ like we don’t already have it in T212 xD

It’s almost as if they are pretending T212 doesn’t exist because its inconvenient for robinhood to not be the first commission-free service anywhere xD

i don’t know it this was asked before, but by which amount of dividend will drip trigger?

They were just too slow to the UK markets they’re not bringing anything new, and they don’t have the brand power over here to make up for a lack of features

Hi @George,

Feedback for the pie:

I’d like if we’re able to sell investments without the need to hit rebalance. I may be the odd one here but I don’t plan to use re-balancing very much, let the winners run as they say.

If I wanted to add a new stock to the pie, I could just add it in with 0% weight and deposit funds by balancing which I assume would then help this stock achieve its target without the need to re-balance.

However, kinda sucks that we can’t sell without re-balance. Any chance this could be added?

Have not tried myself to sell. But can’t you go to the invest tab and sell them?

You can: Withdraw funds → Custom distribution and choose specific instruments to sell.

Largely useless for me at the moment.
The system itself looks great. But if I can’t move my current assets into it things will be a mess!

I appreciate the update may bring this, but it probably needs to be quicker than that.

Until I can move my current assets things have to stay the same

Agree. I own the share below after created the pie they don’t move there. I assume if they create a condition on the system which pick it if I already own will a solution.
