Iāve set a few pies up myself. All running accordingly. Some people stressing out here about some of us blindly following @student007. Let me assure you that I have not put my life savings into it. Putting a small amount each week, Ā£40, for a year to see how it does. Iām funding this via CFD trading so again, itās a speculative pie I agree but, whoās to say they wonāt do well? If 5 fail and 5 excel? Iām happy with that. And worst case scenario Iāll be more than happy to report the losses to the tax man
Good going cashurkash!!First they ignore you , then they laugh at you , then they fight you then you win!
People have been telling me my stocks were going to crash ever since this year started - yes they crashed in March but they were the best of the breed and bounced back stronger than the markets!
I have nothing against WCLD (apart from its fees)- i enjoy doing individual research and the benchmark I want I compare myself to is S&p500 - somebody made $20,000 & posted on twitter in public and we should be happy that itās changing peoples lives for the better rather than trying to find negatives in everything!
Donāt you think you are getting carried away a little? you bought some volatile stocks and they have gone up over a very short time frame, many portfolios do that. thatās all, nothing magical like beat the S&P 500 over 5-10 years which is a real achievement.
wait, thatās cheatingā¦you didnāt create a thread and shout about how youāve found an amazing portfolio that beats the market over a couple months.
People need to chill - this thread was meant for long term investing 3-5 years holding a portfolio of best companies that I consider high quality high growth companies not for short term trading or arguments - there is more than 1 way of making money in the markets so pls move on if itās not your style of investing
I completely agree with you.
Also, pretty much everything is rising today, so no merit with that.
We have to wait and see, letās come back to this in 10 years, or whenever you cash out .
Knowing when to cash out is as important as knowing when to buy, even if you are buying long term I still feel like at some point it is good to exit, even if its 50 years down the line. A companyās stock price wonāt rise forever.
great point about exiting, as an example I bought Evraz circa 2014, after 5 years it was up around 900% and I cashed out, it since crashed massively and would take many years to get back up it seems, was I right to cashout then? even now itās hard to know, maybe in 5 years iāll look dumb or iāll be a genius. With an index investment you sort of know it will keep increasing long term as bad companies get swapped out.
I have nothing against @student007 or his portfolio, itās his money and his choices. As long as he is happy with his picks and has done his research then I see no problem with him running his strategy or creating a post to show how it is going.
My previous post was just pointing out how ridiculous the market is right now, when a P/E ratio is sitting at 2.96K š¤·
