Honestly I canāt imagine anyone thinking this was a good idea. Why are 212 intentionally making it harder to find information? Now going from home to portfolio I canāt now instantly see all the information I could before, why would you do that??
Itās like youāre intentionally trying to anger your users.
The 2025 updates to the interface seem to be style over substance. Does anyone in the design team actually use the app in a serious way?
Anyway two specific points.
- Pending orders. This needs a fairly urgent review. The total cash allocated to pending orders isnāt shown, the stock window can no longer be accessed, and the current stock price is absent. There should also be a total value for each pending order.
- The app no longer respects the colour theme set by the user. Forcing the dark theme for some parts of the screen, whilst allowing the light theme elsewhere. Some of us find green and red on black unpleasant.
Iām sure it wasnāt an intentional thing (why would it be), but the overwhelming consensus is that Trading 212 have made their UI significantly worse in terms of user experience. This is a big let down as I have been a huge advocate for 212ās UI, to the point where I sell it to my friends who are considering opening accounts on your platform.
Two complaints many people seem to have:
- Removal of individual investments from the portfolio page. Now it has to be found in a different menu instead of just scrolling down.
- Removal of the values on the graph, so now its just a meaningless line.
For me personally, and I can also speak for a few other people I know who use 212, the removal of the induvidial investments on the portfolio page is a massive let down. I look at this more than anything else and I know many other people do to. Itās honestly a bizarre choice and Iām not sure what the rationale was behind it. This choice along with the graph and many others like the general look of the new UI is turning people away. Itās such a significant drop in user experience that I made an account on here just to leave this comment on this thread, as I am seriously considering looking elsewhere, thatās how much it bothers me and others Iāve spoken to.
So in answer to your question, putting the investment instruments back where they were would be a great start. That much at least would convince me to stay, although I am certainly not happy about the graph and the other changes.
Thank you
Hereās an idea for your team to avoid such backlash in the future. Push out changes first to a beta branch with limited participation and collect feedback, make the necessary improvements before rolling this out to everyone.
Oh wonderful, they have now hidden pies under a separate tab on the mobile interface, I am sure it will not be long before the desktop follows.
So the open screen of the app just tells me what I have left to invest for the year and what is in my ISA. I now have to click search which then drags up my pies, but when I put a ticker in the search bar, it canāt find that stock as the search does not look inside pies. What is the point of all these backward changes. How many times do people need to raise issues before the CEO looks at the app design team and demands change.
It is reminding me of Itunes back in the day ( when I used to have an ipod) it started off as a clean easy to use interface, then as more and more was added it become so cluttered and useless that it become hated. I do hope T212 admin listen and read the room.
Requested Changes!
Overall Layout
Replace rounded ācardā layouts and pull-up tabs with a straightforward, full-page layout like before.
The current design feels fragmented across multiple small āislandsā and cramped into them, which leads to smaller icons and less visible information (e.g. missing progress/goal lines for Pies).
Inside Pies, the old and superior layout is anyway used, which makes the overall app experience feel inconsistent.
Core Portfolio View
Restore the overview chart with full details, including:
Values on the axis
Additional timeframes such as YTD
Most importantly, bring back the holdings list view as it was before, with options to:
Keep Pies and individual stocks mixed and sorted by value (as previously available)
Or
Option to separate Pies and individual stocks (and choose wich is first)
Heatmap
Restore the heatmap to its previous layout (not cramped into a floating window).
Add an option to change the heatmap timeframe:
Day / Week / Month / YTD
Make pending orders useful like before: Tap a pending order to reveal Cancel and Edit actions inline (no new screen). Edit should allow changing the target/limit price without canceling.
The ISA limit doesnāt need to be visible at all times. Option to hide it, or preferably move it into the Main Pot / Cash Pot view, where it makes more sense to see this information.
Homepage & Navigation: The homepage update didnāt cause immediate backlash since itās used less often, but it still moved key elements (such as watchlists) into pull-up tabs. The previous layout was clearer, and easier to use. Having a small portfolio overview on top of the homepage makes little sense when there is already a dedicated portfolio page with same info
You should not have mentioned it mate, you have just pointed out a clean canvas to the minions ![]()
Was there any reason behind the change?
T212 already received number of backlash from previous changes yet nothing changed and you still went ahead also made other useless changes.
Is this meant to just make it difficult for individuals to navigate and lose money?
How about making useful changes which people would appreciate and brings more users.
Itās non-sensical with added clutter and clicks. What on earth were they thinking? I want to open the app and see my investments and my pies at a glance, I donāt want to have to go searching around for them. Really needs reverting back.
I also massively agree, for some reason this company keeps pushing UI updates that no one wants. And Iām 99% sure that they wonāt do anything about it, ignore the users, and keep pushing awful layouts.
Ideally, the UI should be reverted to what it was a few months ago, but that sadly wonāt happen.
Iām struggling to even look at this for more than a few seconds. Itās jarring and contrasty and the new layout is convoluted. Itās like they hired an intern to learn Figma and then just signed it all off.
Why is AI nonsense being pushed above useful information like my investments?
Why does cash not appear above my investments so I can see everything in one place?
The slider to view investments is nonsensical. Agree with all OPās points.
I made this account just to say, this is an awful layout for any app, let alone a financial app. There seems to be a 6foot ābubbleā around all the data, this space should be used for larger text, extra info or literally anything. I go to look at my portfolio and the keyboard appears because for some reason the search bar is at the top near the drap up āpillā?! No I do not need an AI to summarise my own stocks, I literally picked them evidently I should have done my own research by now, why am I forced to move this to the bottom and not just flat out untick it? The entire community has asked for a Year To Date button, Iām sure thereās an intern or apprentice who would add this in 15 mins. Iāve already moved my Cash ISA out, my S&S is next. Why has the X/Y headings been removed, thanks I can now stare straight at a blue line⦠lovely, how totally irrelevant, Iām better off using this emoji ![]()
. Itās a financial app not candy-crush, utility over random UI gimmicks.
I am considering doing the same. InteractiveInvestor now includes S&S ISA on the same plan with the SIPP which I already pay for. The app is no nonsense and just works.
Please see username.
I agree with basically everything written above. On mobile espically, these changes are awful and (like many recent changes) is just a step backward.
I hope you do listen to your users and stop changing things for the sake of it.
From 2026 ii will charge £3.99 a trade and charge £5.99 a month. You think a terrible layout is worth that⦠ok.
Monthly fees and commissions belong in the 90s. IG offers ISAs and GIAs for free as long as you have a handful of orders per quarter.
As I said I have a SIPP already so am on the pro plan. Regular investing is free and you get a free trade each month, perfect for me. If you day trade then sure.
Iām not a fan at all and Iām tempted to take my money elsewhere
Before the app when I pressed home Iāve got an overview of my investments. All good
I select the pie icon and it showed my pies and investments. Now itās hidden away in the search bar!!!
Who thought of this dire UI change ? Donāt you have a QA team to check that some designs are good or god damn awful ? Or even better have a small team of public users who could give you valuable feedback on if a future amendment was great or not ?
when I first got into investing the t212 app I loved instantly. Far better than any rivals. But now itās just horrible with that amend. It was great the way it was. Why change it ? Did the UI team think they need to do something to justify their work
and the fact it went live !! Even the help team when I complained told me how to find my pies by selecting the pie icon and then you see them (in the old version). Hello I did realise that !
So they werenāt even aware of the update to the app until I told them it doesnāt work like that anymore in the update
Really like t212 but this change alone has put a sour taste in my mouth. Like they disregard the users and make a stupid change. Just hope they do the right thing and listen to the people about this amend and in the future maybe get a small team of testers. Who checked this amend out ? Stevie wonder ?
