Lots of text here but almost nothing of value. Itâs this reason they donât use small teams of public testers because theyâre incapable of providing quality feedback.
Your text basically says âIâm throwing my toys out of the pram because youâve moved something and I donât like change.â Itâs laced with threats, thinly veiled insults and bad behaviour, but actually very little actionable feedback. Itâs the pigeon sh1tting on the chess board story.
Imagine roles reversed, and do better, explain what you donât like exactly and why it inconveniences you, you thereâs no need to be rude, be factual. Thereâs no need to threaten, just tell them what you prefer. Just be better.
If your feedback amounts to âitâs different and I was used to the old versionâ, congratulations youâre on the spectrum, I guess we all are, but your brand just doesnât like change that much and you should acknowledge that and tailor your behaviour.
Specific feedback as a person with not perfect near vision. On phones, the portfolio view, the tiny number in VIVID green or red that shows my profit or loss is quite difficult to read because:
the font is so small (there is space to make the unrealised p&l numbers bigger).
the green and red are specifically hard on the eye (i am not colour blind in any way).
people who are colour blind must hate that specific red and green.
For more poor readability:
portfolio view; the mid grey stating how many shares i hold is again quite small font and poor brightness contrast against the dark background
Instrument chart right hand y-axis uses the same mid grey font colour but the font size must be 2px and is really hard to make out.
No doubt your devs are all young wipper snappers with 20:20 vision, zero eye sight issues and no colour perception problems. Not all of us are so lucky and Iâm writing this as someone whose eyes are not especially bad and I wonât be some weird fringe case.
100% agree, I recently posted a thread where my vision and colourblindess struggle with the small FX text, and that the iOS accessibility options to change text size has no effect in the T212 app.
Now that the portfolio and investments are in a smaller pull up menu its even harder.
I messaged them via chat and on here explaining I was having difficulty on the last UI change back in July. I was told my feedback would be passed on. Like many others on here and Reddit itâs even worse now. The UI pre July 25 was perfect. Iâm serious considering my long term future and may start exploring the UI of other brokers.
Iâve honestly tried, but itâs death by a thousand clicks.
For example, if Iâm on the mobile app and I want to see my portfolio then I need to drag up the box⌠Why, more often than not I open the text box instead!
Whatâs that, you want to check how much cash you have, swipe down, another box.
I donât like the new âInvestmentsâ and âOverviewâ tabs. I preferred the single tab design that we had earlier because I could see my pies at the top and scroll down to see how everything performing today. Now I need to click to see what I want.
I also really dislike the redesign. The old was great, why change it?
Previously I could see how much I have in the main and spending pots side by side, now I only see the main pot and I need to change tab to see the spending pot.
Why are the pies / investments hidden in a drawer (that can never be closed)? This is terrible! I used to really like the old one - I could simply scroll down to view everything. Now I need to drag the drawer up - oh and when it opens the search text field receives focus and opens the keyboard, which I need to close.
Normally I am of the opinion that users dislike change and will eventually get used to it, but this time the change is actually that bad. Please revert this change.
Please fix this App, as you have broken it! And then afterwards please stop fixing whatâs not broken!! Other people have already explained what is wrong please listen to the community. P.S. The same goes for the web version as well.
Why must people fix things that arenât broken. Just stop it! Maybe do some research and beta test things in the community to find out if we actually like it, or if itâs a bag ofâŚ. like this update is.
This is maybe shocking for some but I actually do like the new design. It took me a bit to find where did my things go, but I was able to find them all. Now the flows are better (in my opinion)
The new UI is mind boggling bad to the point that I find the app as investment app is unusable. Whatâs the point of hiding individual holdings, their value, their development, open buy/sell orders etc? I really want to know who on earth would sign this off!
I have contacted support yesterday and they said that this was a business decision and that there are no plans of reverting the changes. I have asked them if they have seen all the negative comments on the App Store and on here, to which the response was the typical corporate spiel of: we are always considering user feedback in all changes we are making etc etc etc.
Pretty disappointed that after what seems to be a massive backlash, Trading212 still seems in denial that this time they have really screwed up. They should take some accountability, but Iâm not getting my hopes up.
Totally agree, the new layout is awful. Why change something that works? Why make it worse? I want to see my portfolio immediately, not find a search bar that doesnât need to exist and drag it up. Itâs almost seems like AI made a design decision. Considering leaving for a brokerage with a better UI at this point
Could you explain why any of these changes have been made? Are the design team and product managers just trying to justify their jobs? The UI was great before and each change is making it less usable. Many many users are looking for other options because itâs becoming annoying to use the app. The useful UI was the main USP of this app in the first place.
Iâm glad that the 212 team are keen to constantly improve and offer a great experience However, I too am not a fan of the new layout changes - specifically (i) the pull up/pull down screens on mobile app, (ii) the splitting of investments and overview on both desktop and mobile app, and (iii) the separation of pies and individual investments on both too. Personally, I find the mobile app really difficult to navigate on now As suggested a few times in this discussion, perhaps it would be wise to test any new changes with a small group of top users to get their feedback, before rolling out changes to everyone. Thank you
Hello, same here ! While i am for any constant UI change or improvment, i cannot see how these help most of us.
What change was this ? Hidding the most important thing and bloated it.
I had my pies sections hided, because i do not use it or have any intention of use it, and now have a big button âCreate a pieâ that i cannot hide. Why ? It takes space !
A search box for investments that gets focus sometimes and lanches the virtual keyboard, because i have to pull the list of investments up. For me, the search is irrelevant also. It takes space !
AI Analysis, it would be nice to be able to hide it also.
Please, make the list of investments show up by default again.
