One of the big things that annoying me at the moment is that its largely icon based, and hovering the mouse over an icon doesnât bring up a text bubble to explain what the button does, iâm left trying to figure out what a simple and abstract symbol is supposed to represent.
It might be ok for some one whos used to a mobile app, but left just clicking on things and seeing what happens.
I remember when i first joined years ago, and was terrified of pressing anything in case i accidentally bought something.
@MaxZorin I agree with you about having hover text.
There are two âadvancedâ views. There is an advanced layout which displays lots of different info - ie portfolio, charts, company info, watch list⌠That is accessed via the icon at the top middle that looks like Home (a house). The panels are resizable so you can drag the divider to change the size of the different panels.
The other âadvancedâ view is for charts and is a little more difficult to access. Basically it replaces the enhanced/advanced charts (I donât remember what they were called in the previous version). If you go to the icon at the top middle that looks like a pie which displays your portfolio and click on any company it will display the company info in the right hand part of the screen. If you mouse over the chart there is a tiny button top left that looks like an âexpandâ button (two corners of a rectangle) if you click that it will open a window with the enhanced charts and you can add additional charts with the â+â
In the CFD view, there is no stop loss / Take Profit indicators on the chart. Makes it almost impossible to adjust the trade, like you can in the legacy mode (e.g. move S/L up to capture profits etcâŚ)
Chart settings are lost
cant click trade in active window (advanced view from home button) to edit trade
Lack of indicators
long / short position drawing on chart doesnât match the actual trade (set profit for 10 pip, short position was actually 10.6pip away, it still didnât close on take profit until well after the 10.6pips on chart
Hi. Given the charts are provided by Trading View, is there a reason we donât have access to the same features? See below. This would be an extremely useful and quick entry tool by autopopulating the relevant entry/SL/TP numbers directly from the Long/Short Position Tool.
For me, the Beta platform is no good for day trading, at all.
In the legacy (CFD) platform you can preset the quantity, as long as itâs locked in a current watchlist, then hit buy or sell, the order opens immediately and small SL and TP tabs appear, which you can quickly slide to where you need. ( you can then âEdit Orderâ to add a Trailing stop, copying the Distance youâd set for the SL with the slliding tab.
I repeat, Open and Close were also configurable as single clicks.
Though rather rudimentary, it was possible to get things done quite quickly.
You could see the Bid and Offer prices as lines on the chart, too.
These features are, as far as I have found, all absent with the beta platform. This makes it totally unusable for day trading, which needs fairly rapid operations.
The chart is still obliterated by the barely readable Edit Order popup panel.
I have been doing it for a while but the beta platform takes several times as long as the legacy one. As such it is far too cumbersome to use.
@WakeMeUp
I donât see an answer to your isolated bar displays problem but you may have worked it out by now. T212 only has automatically scaled charts, whereas in TV you can scale them manually.
It looks like thatâs what youâve done. So when you scroll the chart about, you only see a part of it.
Iâve had a paid version of TV a while - this caught me out when I first started using it. It can of course be useful if youâre scanning over a period of time.
It would be helpful if a member of T212 staff were to scan the thread to answer these queries.
From your other comments, youâre right; only a veneer of even the free version of Tradingview has been adopted.
No I think the single bar problem is a glitch/bug with the T212 integration and is a download problem (fails to get the data). It is when I first open the chart so nothing to do with manually scaling because it is opening with the default scaling.
Edit: and no T212 have not responded or reached out to understand the problem
I thought tradingview supported trading from within tradingview so you can place trades in your broker account from within the chart on tradingview. Iâve never used it but thought that was a facility in TV
