šŸ  Your home screen just got a new look!

Hey, Community :waving_hand:

We’re excited to share our latest update with you. We have revamped the home screen, and you’ll now get a complete overview of your account and its performance.

Starting today, we’ll be gradually releasing the update, and it will be available to everyone within the next week.

Let’s break down each component of the new design:

  • Account value now shows the total account value, including investments and free funds, and your performance over the past 24 hours.

  • The widgets section is a new addition that aims to provide you with a quick overview of your account’s current state.

The Investments widget on the left shows your total portfolio value with an intraday chart for the last 24 hours. On the right, the Main pot widget displays your free funds for investing and trading, while the Spending pot widget shows what’s available as cash in your 212 card - you can tap either to expand. Occasionally, you might also see messages about new features or current offers.

If you are viewing the Stocks & Shares ISA, an Allowance widget will replace the Spending pot widget.

  • The watchlist section now sits at the bottom of your screen. Upon swiping up, the view can be expanded to use up the whole screen. You can also reorder all watchlists from the edit menu.

When investing, your capital is at risk. Features and account types may differ on region.

It’s a neat look.

Could you guys please display the account values in the ā€œYour Accountsā€ dropdown menu? It only shows the one you are currently viewing.

Also it would be fantastic to add a true home page that includes summaries of all balances and holdings. This will be especially useful once there’s SIPPs and LISAs.

I asked for this 5 years ago, you can see it in history somewhere. So far we’ve been told a combined balance screen is not on the cards for some reason

Don’t want to be negative but this new home screen looks like more tinkering and hiding things that no-one asked for but let’s see when it rolls out if there is complaints or not.

Thank you, like the new changes, very helpful

I noticed the time is 2:21 — nice touch :grin::grin:

This mockup is far taller than any iPhone’s screen (and I’d guess most phones).

How does it work on a normal phone that isn’t 10 feet tall?
Does the watchlist get cut off after just 1 stock?

If we close out of the cashback ad, does that essentially make room to fit 3 stocks on the usual screen real estate?

What timeframe is used for the watchlist charts? And what duration?
Without this info, the charts are pretty useless.
Can the timeframe be customised?

I’ve no idea if that’s a daily chart (most likely) or intra-day chart.
Regardless of which timeframe, where does one day start and the next begin?

It’s a cute graphic, don’t get me wrong. But not very useful without knowing the TF and duration — I would think.

Seeing day breaks would be useful if the charts are intra-day, giving users a better understanding of what the stock did today. (Same for week / month breaks.) By breaks I mean the vertical lines separating one day from the next, or week, or month.

An idea: maybe not worth considering, maybe worth looking into:
Tap onto the chart to switch between one TF to another.
Maybe give users 2 or 3 time frames.

So at a quick glance I can look at PLTR’s daily chart, kinda see it going sideways.
Tap onto the chart, it changes to the 15min chart (as an example), now I get a zommed in snapshot of what is going on in that recent price action.

Too ambitious, I know, but a thought nonetheless.

The top half is basically in dark mode.
The bottom half is light mode.

I can understand why: it separates two distinct areas.
But not sure what dark mode users will feel about getting flashbanged by half of their screen :man_shrugging: we’ll live and see.

Sorry, it might look good on a mobile device, but on a PC all my watch lists are now bunched up on the left half of the screen, requiring constant scrolling to view the desired list. Even with the browser full screen the problem still persists as the web page limits the display width. Can’t say I’m a fan.

When it’s ready. Don’t plan around the promise of SIPPs coming. All we know is they are working on it.

Privacy mode is badly needed if your account value is showcased on every page!

Please change the one tick increment on the new small watch list ticker tape. On desktop it is a ridiculous amount of mouse clicks going through large number of watchlists.
Make it dynamic grab and move, or add it back to the top of the screen and make full width.
Desktops are on large monitors, no need for just 776px wide graphical screen?

Use advanced view for your watchlists to be at the top.

Love it, are you doing the same for the Cash ISA? Feels so bland in comparison now haha

Thanks for your feedback, @NakamuraRTS & @trader787 :folded_hands: I see how a combined balance tab can be useful, as well as showing the value in the dropdown menu, and will forward this to the team.

We appreciate you joining the topic, @Vio :raising_hands: Let me address all of your questions below:

While the mockup may look tall, this is how the screen will look on most devices with a regular-sized display. For bigger devices, for example, an iPhone Pro Max, the screen can fit six instruments when there is no banner below the widgets. And yes, if you close the banner, the watchlist will fill up the space.

The mini charts in the watchlist are 15-minute line charts for the last 24 hours, including price action that occurred outside of the regular trading hours, if you have enabled 24/5 trading.

Currently, the timeframe cannot be customized, but I’ll pass this as an improvement suggestion, along with your idea to add line breaks, which I also think could be useful.

For Dark or Navy mode users, the watchlist will match the color theme, so what you described shouldn’t be an issue. The watchlist is a different color only for the Light theme.

Welcome to the Community, @Transition_Lost :waving_hand: If you prefer a view where your watchlists are visible at the top of your screen, you can hover over the ā€˜Home’ icon and click on the arrow below it. From there, you can switch to ā€˜Advanced view’. I get how this can be inconvenient, though, and we’ll look into improving it with future updates.

@MrHesh Privacy mode is in our plans, and I’ll let you know once we have any updates on the topic.

Regarding your feedback on the watchlist section, if you use a mouse with a side scroll or a device with a trackpad, you can scroll/swipe sideways, and the lists won’t move in one increment as when using the arrows. Still, making this section dynamic can be very convenient, and I’ll forward this to be considered for future updates.

Welcome to the Community as well, @alan1 :tada: This specific update won’t make its way to the Cash ISA, but you can be sure that we’ll make improvements to it as well in the future :raising_hands:

To prevent wasting time & effort. Portfolio screen is fine as it is, don’t mess with it.

The watchlist chart home screen chart used to clearly display the Chart Period/Time Duration, but you hid it hidden a settings cog in a previous update, which I said was a very poor decision. It should be clearly displayed on the screen at all times along with its adjustable icon.

Bring the Advanced watchlist ribbon back to standard view please, immensely more convenient. Advanced view is great, but here is no reason why you cant have the screen wide watchlist ribbon on both standard & advanced. Please bring it back.

A genuine question for everyone.

Does anyone ever land on the home screen?

My app opens onto my pies and the web opens up to my investments (both stocks ISAs)

I’ve not seen the home screen in a long time as it doesn’t serve a purpose when all the information is down the left hand side of the page anyway.

Yes, I agree. I just stumbled on it recently - had never used it before as I open on my investments and that’s all I need. But there is some interesting data there so I will use it now and then!

As always, please don’t force this update upon us but give us an option to stick to the old layout (which is super effective already and not as flashy). Having a choice is always nice!

Hi.

Despite the suggested improvements, the account value still appears without the option to hide it.

It’s simple and convenient.

I like the new look, but I have a few suggestions:
Mobile app:

  • Add the ability to customize the format of information, such as your favorite key figures and values.
  • In the investment account, make it possible to see everything in your own currency. if you want This is convenient because you can then immediately see what a stock is worth in your main currency.
  • Make sure this is separately configurable, so you can see actual currency values in CFDs if necessary.
  • Add the option to change the order of items, for example, first the social feed, then the key figures and then the financial information - or any other order.
  • Additionally, make it possible to customize the settings per subplatform or just keep them the same everywhere.
  • Desktop:
  • On desktop, I have different needs with CFD than with Invest. Therefore, it would be convenient if you can set separate preferences per sub-account.
    Invest:
  • Make the widgets a large, clear banner at the top that always stays in view. how its now presented its in my opnion less orderly
  • Add the option in the desktop app to turn off the charts in the watchlist. I find this useful in the mobile app, but not on desktop.
  • CFD:
  • I miss in the advanced mode the ability to personalize which indicators are at the top so I can freely choose the ones most important to my strategy.
