At most I can see 6 results where in the legacy app I could see 10. If it were not mandatory to see a chart above the results (I don’t need charts) I could see many more results.
@IntInv, my guess would be that this instrument simply does not have any news nor social community attached to it.
ok, yes you are right - highly possible. this being an ETF. My bad. I thought T212 had rolled out a few updates that had been requested (move Social and News down the page. Wasn’t sure why it was showing on just for one stock and not the others
Just to clarify - this functionality is in fact retained in the new app. Please refer to this message: New Web App (Beta) - #212 by Wit
Yes, the feature is retained but the point I made was that I can only see 6 results (maximum) due to the fact that it is mandatory to display at least one chart above those results in the Advanced view. I could add that this problem is made even worse by the larger typeface which eats into the space available.
Hi @Fandango. Charts are the main “attraction” of the Advanced view, we have no plans to make them optional/hideable for the foreseeable future.
A workaround is to manually expand the table to take up as much height as possible, if this is in fact the information most important to you. Just drag the separator between the table and the charts upwards.
The YouTube department should start filming tutorial videos for the new app ASAP. With a link to a PDF file with all the FAQ’s and new changes etc.
I have no idea how you managed to get 11 result in view, all I can get is 6 because of the huge default typeface I suppose.
I agree, I think this is bit of a resolution issue that T212 might have to check. Even if the charts are displayed, due to the overall font size and spaces, very little can be seen on the charts, its like a wide frame for a tiny photograph in the middle.
@Wit did a quick check now, settings don’t look any different to other charts, but I will keep looking as time permits.
About the odd tail, I have two charts same stock on different timeframe with identical indicators; have placed MACD and here is the comparison. This has been there all day today, only for this one stock.
I am with you about T212’s control over TradingView.
Why are Market Hours not visible anywhere on the new App ? This is just basic functionality thats missing.
NEW
OLD
Why remove CRUCIAL information ?
AH, good question @SCFC . I have been asking that for a few weeks now. Seems not having them is T212’s policy decision. But I only found out today that you get a coloured spot on the respective charts on your Portfolio tab. If you click on the dot it shows you the time.
Unfortunately you will have to keep doing the Time Remaining part of the calculations, it was very convenient on the Legacy app.
Check the screenshot below. If you click on the green dot, it will open the timing chart for you. Very unintuitive I have the say, I wish I could speak to the product designer
You can see the outrageous wasted space, just from our users random screenshots! – Its night and day
I just dont get it mate? Are the designers actually USING the website in a functional manner? Nothing makes intuitive sense anymore. The new broken search UI epitomises the lack of functional forethought. Things just moved around arbitraily with no regard to function and usability!!
Bro, it took me 27 minutes to find this dot! The clue was the little pie in top left corner. I was baffled!
(I was doing other stuff as well, but still, that’s insane to take such effort to simply determine if the market is still open!!!)
Come on now, it should not require 2 people, and a message board to find out the time.
… . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
I blame the functionality confusion on Agile development; never been a fan of timeboxed functionality based delivery models.
I feel sorry for the poor developers, as much as they try, bits and pieces continue to fall through the cracks and they always get the blame.
Not to mention the stress of it all. Dev’s not even getting satisfaction from their work because everyone is pissed. Like a lose, lose situation for them.
Shouts to the tech dept, must be exhausted
This comment from @Wit has got to be pinned somehow. LOL
I am replying to this because I did not know if it was addressed yet.
Again, like Market Times, (Currency in searches) the Stats are crucial information that has been removed in the new App!!
I hope to see both back in the new App ASAP
Thanks guys
@Wit If it is not too much of a task, can we have all the pop-up windows movable? It is ok to keep them mandatory on the screen but we should be able to move them around.
For e.g the Buy / Sell pop-up opens bang in the middle of the screen. If there is a large movement behind then there is no way to tell what is going unless the pop-up window is closed and then we lose the opportunity to put the deal through.
