@Wit , I donât want to stir your boiling pot. I have been in your situation before so understand the pressures. But I can list you multiple issues reported above that have been tapped down by either T212, or their patrons, on poor configurations or resolutions.
My experience above stopped me from reporting this problem on 12th April, I know I donât have an i9 but an i5 like lot many other users I am sure, so kept quit.
DMs have not worked for me in the past so avoiding them as I donât have enough time to follow up on them. I have therefore decided to report on issues here and wait for a resolution or else move on.
Please do work with @WakeMeUp because that will also solve my problem. It is a genuine issue, and so is the mandatory rigid large âmiddle of the screenâ action windows that need to be expressly made movable!
It is clearly not machine specific because I have two high spec machines one of which is brand new and have the same problem on both.
It does seem much better today so I will try to monitor it.
It looks like an initialisation issue with the client side code because once working its basically fine. The tv charts are working (ie you can mouse over and see the price and date info changing based on mouse position) before the t212 code is operational (ie buttons work - ie the notification button or the button top left to get account info or any of the chart tab buttons/selectors).
If I click the notification bell button before the code is operational everything will suddenly spring to life at the same time indicating that its a problem with code initialisation or the code freezing until it has downloaded data to the client side. One possibility is that it is dependant on the number of charts active (ie how much chart data is has to load) or the number of positions, alerts, orders⌠but Iâd be surprised if it was so sensitive to that.
In my ISA the first chart tab (in advanced view) is a split view with 8 charts on it and I then have multiple additional chart tabs. Initially I had a problem during initialisation that if I was viewing the split view tab when I open T212 and tried to select one of the other chart tabs it would stay on the split view display (8 charts) and simply put the chart for the tab I had selected in the upper left chart but if I quit and reopened the original configuration of the split view tab was still correct so it hadnât changed the settings just the code to display it was getting confused (displaying what should be a full screen single chart on the previously active split view screen). That problem seems to have gone away to be replaced with the current problem. Again this suggests (to me) a loading problem and the previous chart problem was caused either by loading sequence or code partially working before it had fully loaded itself and that got fixed in an update that stops anything working until its all loaded - thatâs just what it looks like
The problem with the split view chart remains but is now occurring during normal use.
Window full loaded and working in advanced view so all good. Have multiple chart tabs with the first tab being a split view tab with 8 charts (eg Companies A to H). The other chart tabs are single chart views for Companies J to P (I missed I because it can look like a 1 so confusing). If I view the split view tab and then click on tab for K and then tab for L⌠and do a click (to select a chart tab) before the code has sorted itself out it suddenly starts to get itself into a mess. This can lead to a long pause with the display not updated/only partially loaded while the code sorts itself out AND/OR the company for the tab I selected being displayed in the top left chart of the split view. So back to my example, I end up still seeing the split view display for the first tab but instead of A being displayed top left I get L displayed (the company for the tab I clicked) along with B to H (so all other sub charts in the split view are correct). Another manifestation of the problem is the chart is displaying K but tab L is selected and the info panel on the right is showing info for L.
Basically it seems like the link between T212 code and TV gets confused or in a mess and the T212 code thinks its displaying x and tv is displaying y or at times tv hasnât switched from split view to single chart view and puts y into one of the sub charts on the current split view.
At this moment, I had the sort of setup described (tab1 is split view and multiple other tabs each a single chart) and its got itself into a mess where I click the tab for the chart for L and in the chart tab bar it changes âLâ to be a split view which is a copy of tab1 but the upper left chart being L.
The is just the code getting into a confused/error state because it I go to the browser url box at the top and just hit Enter to cause a reload of the whole page it reloads with the original setup and all of the tabs back the way they were. I suspect this is a problem between different bits of async code where one takes some input before the others have finished doing what they were doing and everything ending up out of sync.
@WakeMeUp Thank you for the detailed explanation of whatâs happening on your side! This will be very useful for us in getting to the root cause. Iâll write here when we have an update.
@IntInv Weâve just deployed a hotfix that resolves the issue where some user-configured chart settings are overridden whenever the appâs theme is changed.
Please refresh your page to get the newest version that includes this hotfix.
Hi @StockHog100, just checked on an internal build of the legacy app - it did, in fact, display pie-only investments in the Advanced view table. This is intended. Perhaps the behaviour youâre describing was a bug in the legacy app that was fixed at some point.
We could look into adding filters for that table, same as we have for the Portfolio tab. Iâll raise this internally.
Appreciate you taking the time to respond on a Saturday!
Yes! It would be really helpful to have the ability to filter like you suggest and is presently possible on the portfolio tab and mobile.
Currently my investment list is very cluttered and will only grow with future prospective pies, this makes it hard to manage positions which may only be short-medium term, along with a chart on screen.
FWIW incase it helps - I was last able to import investments like I described from âadvanced viewâ into a pie, to remove it from the table, until the very day I switched over to the new app (at least 2-3 weeks ago).
+1
This would be helpful⌠saves time and clicking lots on opposite sides of the screen.
If clicking too fast on right hand side chevron, charts are inadvertently closed at speed.
Makes sorting charts easier too.
Hi @IntInv, from the screenshot it looks like youâve split this chart into two panes. You can resize the inner panes by dragging the grey horizontal line.
After resizing the bottom pane so itâs more visible, you should be able to see a menu button. You can click on it and select âMove pane upâ if youâd like.
This resource by TradingView might be useful as well.

Could I ask if youâve ever tried accessing the scroll bars when using a laptop touchpad? Honestly, this is the single most annoying feature of the application for me. This works okish on a touch screen, and with a mouse with a scroll wheel, but is exasperating when using a touchpad.
I know this is has been the fashion for some time now, but as a Windows 10 user I can say that itâs a feature of the start menu that has never stopped annoying me (even when using a mouse)
Itâs interesting that you say the reason for not including visible scroll bars is that they look âway to heavy visuallyâ. Am I alone in not caring less about that? Surely the ease of use should come before visual prettiness?
Could this not be made a configurable feature? I would happily endure a great deal of visual heaviness just to avoid the frustration of hunting around for that damn scroll bar.
(Just to say I do appreciate all the hard work you do in developing this tool which has many excellent features).
Hi @IanHH, our assumption is that most users either:
Have a laptop with a trackpad and use its 2-finger scrolling gesture to scroll
Have a mouse with a mouse wheel and use that to scroll
In both cases, the scrollbarâs function is not so much to scroll as to indicate where you are in the scrollable list. Therefore, the scrollbar is only shown once you start scrolling (the same as in Safari on macOS). Still, weâve left the option to click and drag the scroll barâit also appears if one hovers over the rightmost part of any scrollable list.
Weâre open for feedback. Please let us know if weâre missing anything in our line of thinking.
